Pokemon GO Nest Map and Guide

Pokemon GO Nests are small areas that consistently spawn a high amount of a specific Pokemon. A Pokemon GO Nest is a place made from love, famed for rarity and farm potential.

How does a Pokemon GO Nest look like?

A Pokemon nest looks exactly like it sounds Jimmy. There are tons of same specie Pokemon swarming the place. You have probably never seen one and it is fine.

A nest is a sight to behold and a guarantee for fun. Except for Pidgey nests, that’s just bad. Here you go Jimmy, a picture of a Magmar nest, feast your hungry eyes.

As you can see, things are quite busy near a nest. It’s hard to find it, but it’s also incredibly rewarding.

Wait, aren’t nests the same thing as spawns?

No, they are not. Don’t ever say that again!

Spawn points are areas where Pokemon randomly spawn. They have yield generators (maths, tread carefully) that generate random Pokemon every N minutes.

Spawns generate random Pokemon from a given set. That set is defined by the area, distance from water, number of roads etc.

Nests generate Pokemon from a much smaller set. Sometimes, that set can include only 1 Pokemon, but more often there are 2-3 Pokemon in the set.

In the example above, the nest generates only Magmars and Pidgeys. We call that a fiery flock.

If you think really hard, nests are a subset of spawns. Each nest is a spawn point, but not every spawn point is a nest.

There are good and there are bad people on the Internet. Mostly, they are lurkers. Some of them are explorers. Let’s talk about the explorers for a while.

There are numerous online projects trying to create maps of nests. The best and the biggest one is TheSilphRoad. TheSilphRoad has an amazing online web app for nest location. We love TheSilphRoad and we will not mention any other projects.

You need an access code for participating in TheSilphRoad. If you are patient and smart, you can get it here.

Another important thing Jimmy. Don’t be a dirty leecher. Report sightings, use the map, confirm nests if you live nearby.

Do Pokemon GO Nest location change?

Of course they do. Plain and simple, nests appear and disappear, change location. It keeps the game fresh. You will feel the change, although you might not see it.

When do Nest location change? Roughly almost every time when spawn points change. Remember, nests are a subset of Pokemon GO spawns, so they migrate together!

How to find Pokemon GO nests?

It’s very difficult to find nests. They appear randomly and without rules. You can use an online radar tool to check areas for spawns, or you can walk. If you’re planing on using an online radar, we recommend using PokemonGo-DesktopMap.

Be aware that it is against the TOS to use tools like this and it could result in a ban for the account you used the tool with.

When you find a nest, take screenshots, spend some time there and confirm that it is a nest. Two nearby Charmanders in 60 minutes don’t count as a Charmander nest, but 4-5 in a row do.
