Rowlet, Dartrix and Decidueye stats and analysis

Grass starter family is in an interesting place in Pokémon Sun and Moon. Unfortunately, they are not the primary choice for many due to low base speed and Decidueye not having an option to learn Grass Support Moves like Leech Seed and Sleep Powder.

However, there are some interesting moves that Decidueye can learn, primarily Spirit Shackle that hits like a truck.

New Moves

Leafage: The user attacks by pelting the target with leaves. 100% Accuracy [Grass] 40 BP, Physical.

Spirit Shackle: The user attacks while simultaneously stitching the targets shadow to the ground to prevent them from escaping. 100% Accuracy [Ghost] 80 BP, Physical.

New Ability

Long Reach: The Pokemon uses its moves without making contact with the opponent.

Litten, Torracat and Incineroar stats and analysis

Fire Starter Family is standing strong and proud, with only one small issue: Incineroar speed goes down after evolving. Luckily, it’s backed by solid 115 Attack and surprising bulk to counter that low speed. Intimidate, access to Bulk Up, Swords Dance, a buffed Leech Life and various Fighting moves, this guy can dish out serious damage while taking hits like a champ.

New Moves

Darkest Lariat: The user swings both arms and hits the target. The target’s stat changes don’t affect this attack’s damage. 100% Accuracy [Dark] 85 BP, Physical.

Throat Chop: The user attacks the target’s throat, and the resultant suffering prevents the target from using moves that emit sound for two turns. 100% Accuracy [Dark] 80 BP, Physical.

New TM (S)

Brutal Swing: The user swings its body around violently to inflict damage on everything in its vicinity. 100% Accuracy [Dark] 60 BP, Physical.

Popplio, Brionne and Primarina stats and analysis

The entire Water starter family suffers from low speed, but comes equipped with VERY high Special Attack and Special Defense. Primarina is looking like it will have a great niche as a special attacker with a great set of resistances, due to it’s Fairy typing.

Overall, a solid build, but outclassed in many competitive segments by other species due to a lack of Support Moves.

New Moves

Sparkling Aria: The user bursts into song, emitting many bubbles. Any Pokemon suffering from a burn will be healed by the touch of these bubbles. 100% Accuracy [Water] 90 BP, Special.

New Ability

Liquid Voice: All sound-based moves become Water-type moves.
