New Pokémon

Two new Psychic Pokémon families have joined Pokémon GO:

Solosis Duosion Reuniclus
Gothita Gothorita Gothitelle

During the daytime, you’ll be able to encounter Solosis, the Cell Pokémon, in the wild, and during the evening, you’ll instead encounter Gothita, the Fixation Pokémon.

Solosis and Gothita will be available after the event in the wild and in 5 km Eggs.

New shiny Pokémon

Shiny Baltoy and shiny Tediursa have been released during this event. Shiny Tediursa is only available for Safari Zone St. Louis ticket holders (source).

Field Research

Psychic Spectacular field research includes the following quests:

Raid Bosses

The following Pokémon are available in Raids during the event. For tiers 4 and 5, previously available Bosses are still around:

Tier Raid Bosses
1 Baltoy (s), Spoink (s), Meditite (s), Slowpoke, Abra
2 Kirlia, Exeggutor, Girafarig
3 Claydol, Jynx, Espeon, Alolan Raichu (s)
4 Metagross
5 Thundurus, Cobalion (s)

Increased spawns

Reports indicate that the following Pokémon spawns have been boosted during this event:

Beldum Chimecho Drowzee
Exeggcute Girafarig Gothita
Lunatone Natu Slowpoke
Solosis Spoink

Event priorities

  • Solosis and Gothita are the highlights of this event. We suggest using Incense while playing and trying to obtain them during the event hours. Niantic did say that they will be available after the event, but we’re not sure how rare they will be.
  • Shiny Baltoy is an attractive option to hunt for, but given the global health situation we advise against that. Shiny hunting takes time and requires you to stay outside for a while, which is against all health recommendations brought upon us by Coronavirus.
  • Don’t sleep on Drowzee! Hypno is a surprisingly versatile Pokémon in the Great League, ranking #52 at PvPoke at the moment. If you don’t have a good Hypno for GL matchups, we recommend that you work your way through Drowzee spawns until you find an appropriate one. You need 50 Candy and 50k Dust to unlock a second move for Hypno.
