We are very happy to report that Ditto seems to be getting finally some love in the new update. A new called “Transform” has been added to the update, both with it’s animation and enumeration.
We’ve found references in the code base for a MOVE_TRANSFORM and the new GAME_MASTER (the main game configuration file) has the details on the animation behind the move:
Further exploration showed that Metamon is Ditto’s name in Japanese, hinting that Niantic tried to hide this update from the players.
No additional info has been found – no references to a possible way to obtain Ditto or an upcoming event. We’re continuing to data mine the new update and will update the web page as new info becomes available.
