New Earth Day shirt and weather reporting hinted in game’s translation files

Trainers, a few interesting things were discovered in the game’s translation files by Chrales this morning, shining more light on the upcoming Pokémon GO Earth Day 2018 Cleanup event.

An in-game store bundle containing the new shirt has been added in the translations, bearing the Earth Day 2018 bundle name. The shirt is called Blue Surfer-Shirt and it’s apparently… blue. The shirt will appear along other existing male and female shirts in the in-game store and we expect it to be free.

In addition to the new T-shirt, a new error reporting topic / category has been spotted, hinting that players will soon be able to report the following:

  • Inaccurate weather in their region
  • Accurate, but out of date weather

Given the verbiage and placement of the messages, we’re guessing that the new options will appear in the Report an Issue menu, along with existing menu options. For the sake of brevity, we’re only sharing the English translations:

  • Weather report option 1
    • “The weather is not accurate at all!”
  • Weather report option 2
    • “The weather seems accurate, just not up to date.”

And last, but not least, it seems that the “Spin a PokeStop” quest is getting slightly changed to also include Gyms as quest objectives:

  • Quest Visit PokeStops plural
    • “Spin {0} PokéStops or Gyms.”
  • Quest Visit PokeStops singular
    • “Spin a PokéStop or Gym.”
