Trainers, something exciting is going on in Japan: Nintendo, Game Freak and Creatures Inc. have registered for a new trademark, whose implications are unclear at the moment. The trademark registration states ウルトラシャイニー (Ultra Shiny).
Despite rampant rumours that the next generation Pokémon title will soon be announced on the Nintendo Switch platform, we have no additional information to offer to our readers. The details are virtually non existent, there is no actual background to this trademark and we don’t want to cause any additional hype.
If Ultra Shiny turns out to be a name for a new rare shiny variant of Pokémon, they are going to be the the rarest form of Pokémon available in the wild. Shiny Pokémon were already hard to get, but don’t even dare to imagine how hard it could be to get an Ultra Shiny Charizard.
Of course, similar to Mega Evolutions, abilities, evolution stones and status effects, it is not guaranteed that Pokémon GO will benefit from this trademark at all.
