Pokémon GO Ultra Unlock 2020 details

Trainers, Pokémon GO Fest 2020 is right around the corner! Are you excited for one of the best events of the year? We sure are! If you haven’t purchased your ticket already, head over to the in-game shop and you’ll find it there for US$14.99 (or the equivalent in your local currency), plus taxes and fees. Enjoy a weekend of Special Research and encounters with featured Pokémon, collect an exclusive in-game medal, explore all the habitats, participate in some thrilling challenges and most importantly, have fun!

Ultra Unlock

As if that wasn’t enough, there will be an Ultra Unlock bonus too! Throughout the first day of Pokémon GO Fest 2020, there will be 32 global challenges to be completed in the Global Challenge Arena. Trainers are encouraged to work together in order to complete such challenges and unlock the Ultra Unlock bonus event.

Every 8 challenges completed, there will be 1 additional event week unlocked, up to a total of 3 events. You’ll be able to track the progress of the challenges in the Global Challenge Arena in the Today view.

The three events you can unlock are:

  • Ultra Unlock Week One: Dragon Week
  • Ultra Unlock Week Two: Enigma Week
  • Ultra Unlock Week Three: Unova Week

Dragon Week

The Dragon Week event can be unlocked if trainers are able to complete 8 global challenges. Dragon Week would run from Friday, July 31, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. to Friday, August 7, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. PDT (GMT −7).

The main features of the event would be:

  • Alolan Exeggutor, Horsea, Dratini, Trapinch, Swablu, and Bagon appearing more frequently in the wild. If you’re lucky, you might even find Gible!
  • Horsea, Dratini, Trapinch, Swablu and Bagon hatching from 7km eggs. If you’re lucky, you might hatch Gible and Deino too!
  • Rayquaza as a Tier 5 raid boss
  • Timed Research during the week for a chance to encounter two Deino
  • Shiny Deino debuts in Pokémon GO!

Enigma Week

The Enigma Week can be unlocked if trainers are able to complete 16 global challenges. Featured Pokémon include the yet unreleased Elgyem and the well-known Deoxys! Enigma Week would run from Friday, August 7, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. to Friday, August 14, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. PDT (GMT −7).

The main features of the event would be:

  • Staryu, Jigglypuff, Clefairy, Lunatone, Solrock, Baltoy, Bronzor, and Elgyem appearing more frequently in the wild.
  • Cleffa, Igglybuff, Lunatone, Solrock, and Elgyem hatching from 7km eggs
  • Bronzong, Claydol, Bronzong, Elgyem, and Unown U, L, T, R, and A appearing in raids
  • Normal Forme Deoxys as a Tier 5 raid boss
  • Shiny Staryu and shiny Normal Forme Deoxys released!

Unova Week

The Unova Week would be unlocked if trainers are able to complete 24 global challenges. Some Pokémon originally discovered in the Unova region such as Sewaddle, Cottonee, Emolga and Bouffalant would make their Pokémon GO debut! Bouffalant would be a regional Pokémon available in New York city, USA and the surrounding areas. Unova Week would run from Friday, August 14, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. to Friday, August 21, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. PDT (GMT −7).

Main features in the event:

  • Sewaddle, Cottonee and other Pokémon originally discovered in the Unova region appearing more frequently in the wild and hatching from 7km eggs
  • Bouffalant appearing in the wild and hatching from 5km eggs in the regions mentioned above
  • Roggenrola and other Pokémon from the Unova region appearing in raids
  • Genesect as a Tier 5 raid boss
  • Shiny Genesect and shiny Roggenrola released!
