Supanova 2024 Perth: Pokémon GO Event – My Experience

Posted in

Supanova is one of Australia’s premier pop culture conventions, drawing fans of all ages to celebrate their favourite movies, TV shows, comics, and games. This year, the excitement reached new heights as Supanova 2024 landed in Perth from June 29 to June 30, 2024, at the Perth Convention & Exhibition Centre. The Pokémon GO booth stood out among the various attractions, offering fans an interactive and rewarding experience.

As a Pokémon GO enthusiast, the dedicated booth at Supanova was a must-visit. The setup was inviting, with a real-life Pokéstop display and friendly staff ready to assist. Here’s a rundown of my experience

From the moment I walked into the Perth Convention Centre, the energy was infectious. The cosplay at Supanova 2024 was nothing short of spectacular. Attendees had gone all out, recreating intricate costumes from popular movies, TV shows, and games. The dedication and craftsmanship were truly impressive.

I spent hours browsing through the stalls, admiring the talent and creativity on display. The homemade merchandise was not only high-quality but also deeply personal, reflecting the creator’s love for their craft.

After basking in the atmosphere and taking it all in, the giant in-person PokéStop was calling my name. I was greeted by the official Pokémon GO booth. The booth offered an array of free goodies that were a hit with attendees. I walked away with exclusive stickers, pop socket for phone, in-game codes for items (1x Incense, 1x Lure Module, 10x Poké Balls) and a Pikachu hat which I was forced to wear in this picture.

Not only was it pleasant to look at, but the booth also featured an exclusive in-game quest that awarded players with a Red Party Hat Pikachu. The quest added an extra layer of excitement to the event, and the reward was a delightful addition to my Pokémon collection.

One of the exclusive features of the event was the increased chance of encountering Unown S via Lure Modules. I managed to catch several of these rare Pokémon, adding a special touch to my Supanova experience. Unfortunately, I was unable to encounter a shiny Unown S throughout the event, but it was possible to obtain them.

Supanova 2024 in Perth was a memorable experience, and the Pokémon GO booth was a highlight. From reuniting with friends, grabbing exclusive merchandise, completing special quests and seeing the sheer dedication participants had in their cosplay outfits, the event offered something for everyone. If you’re a fan of Pokémon GO or pop culture in general, Supanova is an event you won’t want to miss.
