Buzzwole Raid Counters Guide

Posted in
Buzzwole

Buzzwole is a Bug and Fighting type 5-Star Raid boss. Best Buzzwole counters include powerful Fairy, Fire, Flying and Psychic types, with a mixed range of different counters available to help you defeat it. It is 2x weak to Flying because of its dual typing. The shiny will become available for in-person raiders at New York Pokémon GO Fest, and then globally from July 8th.

Buzzwole Raid Boss CP is 44654, and you can catch it in the following CP Ranges:

  • 1894 CP to 1977 CP at Level 20, no weather boost
  • 2368 CP to 2472 CP at Level 25, with Rainy and Cloudy weather boost

Depending on your levels and counters, we would recommend 2-5 Trainers who are high level, and more if you don’t have optimal teams. This guide will tell you how to beat this macho Ultra Beast, as well as its optimal stats, moves and CP range.

Best Buzzwole Counters in Pokémon GO

Here are the best for the Buzzwole Raid Boss in Pokémon GO, including best Pokémon to defeat it, highest DPS attackers, and moves to use. With a wide range of counters and a fair few different type weaknesses thanks to that Bug and Fighting dual typing, most Trainers should find themselves able to whip up a strong team of counters.

Best Mega Pokémon against Buzzwole

Mega Rayquaza, Mega Pidgeot, Mega Blaziken and Mega Charizard Y perform exceptionally well against Buzzwole. These Pokémon boost Flying and Fire type attackers, and add a significant boost to your damage output.

Buzzwole Moveset Analysis

Fast Moves Charge Moves
  • Counter Fighting
  • Poison Jab Poison
  • Superpower Fighting
  • Fell Stinger Bug
  • Power-Up Punch Fighting
  • Lunge Bug

For PvE As Buzzwole doesn’t get access to any Bug type fast moves, it has the most potential as a Fighting type. It sadly doesn’t have Dynamic Punch right now which would have been the ideal move set in combination with Counter. It isn’t meta breaking, but could be a handy back up Fighting type for raids.

For PvP we have a dive into their use, and it looks exciting! Poison Jab and Counter are two great fast moves, literally being super fast, and some great charges moves in Lunge and Fell Stinger. Hype!

Buzzwole Sprites

The shiny version of Buzzwole is available for in person raiders for New York Pokémon GO Fest, and will be globally from July 8th.

Regular Sprite Shiny Sprites

Conclusion

Buzzwole will make a decent Fighting type for raids, but the real excitement should be in PvP! It has play in Great League and Ultra League, as well as having a really unique design generally.
