Wayfinders, your patience has paid off! The highly anticipated Wayfarer Map is now available for all eligible Wayfinders not only in Pokémon GO, but also in all other Niantic games.
The exciting update was shared by the Wayfarer Team on their community page of Niantic Labs, while also mentioning some other details.
Once you sign in to the Wayfarer website, you can find and use the Wayfarer Map as the very first page (replacing the Showcase button).

Search by location
You can search for latitude or longitude coordinates, cities, towns, parks, etc., just like any other map.
Browse Wayspots on the Map
Check out the Wayspots and find new places.
Focus on PokéStop, Gym, and Powerspot Wayspots
The associated buttons located at the top of the page let you find these Pokémon GO points of interest easily.
Differentiate between the sources of Wayspots
Filter the Wayspots added by the community and those by Niantic.
Satellite and Map view
Clear-cut satellite and map views of all areas you wish to explore.
Map Centering Button
The map centering button will help you return to your location, hassle-free.
After you’re well-acquainted with the host of features, you can select a specific Wayspot, which would give you more details about the Wayspot in question, such as:
- Title
- Photo Gallery, displaying the cover photo first as seen in Niantic games. In case of multiple images, you can browse through them all by clicking the arrow on either side.
- Description
- See how these Wayspots are used in Pokémon GO, whether it’s a PokéStop, Gym, or Power Spot.
- Location that gives you the address and latitude/longitude coordinates.
Needless to say, you’ll be able to find directions to Wayspots and also be able to report if it goes against the Wayfarer criteria.
Players took to Reddit, expressing their joy and gratitude towards the addition of Wayfarer Maps.
In a post titled, “Niantic I love you,” the OP lamented that it was previously extremely difficult to find the exact locations of PokéStops without opening Pokémon GO, but the update has made things “unbelievably helpful” to them.
Others agreed that it’s a great addition, and wished for a few updates, like a feature to suggest edits to existing PokéStop/Power Spots located near players.
Unlike the Campfire app, which doesn’t display PokéStops, the Wayfarer app does it all, making it a respite for many.
This is undoubtedly an exciting time for those who have been eagerly awaiting the Wayfarer Map, giving the community tons of exploration opportunities.
