Pokémon TCG Pocket shares details about the upcoming Trading feature

Trading has been one of the most anticipated features in Pokémon TCG Pocket. Even as two expansions (Genetic Apex and Mythical Island) chugged along the game, players waited with bated breath for trading to go live.

Now, TCG Pocket has finally unveiled some information about the much-awaited feature while still keeping some details under wraps.

All we know about Trading in Pokémon TCG Pocket

Here are all the highlights of the upcoming Trading feature in TCG Pocket, based on everything revealed in this initial announcement:

  • The trading feature is slated to go live later in January 2025.
  • Trading can be done between friends and only for cards of the same rarity. You can check our card rarity guide here to know all the particulars.
  • Cards available in the Genetic Apex (A1) and Mythical Island (A1a) sets can be traded. However, trades would be expanded to other sets in the future.
  • Only cards with a rarity from 1 Diamond to 4 Diamond and 1 Star can be traded. Cards of 2 Star, 3 Star, and Crown rarity cannot be traded.
  • Items will be consumed for trading.
  • The next set is also planned to be added later this month.

Note that 4 Diamond cards include regular art versions of EX cards (not full art) while 1 Star cards include full art versions of non-EX cards. These cards are typically the most useful in battle and rarer for collectors.

That’s all that has been revealed in their first announcement of the trading feature. Stay tuned for future announcements as we will be sure to share everything about trades in Pokémon TCG Pocket.
