Pokémon GO Gen 2 Starter Models
We took this opportunity to showcase the Generation 2 Starter Models for Pokémon GO. As confirmed by Nintendo and Niantic, all of the Pokémon GO 3D models are actually reused 3D models from an earlier Pokémon game: Pokémon X and Y.
We successfully rendered all of the Gen 2 starter models from X & Y and found uncanny similarity in style and form with the current Pokémon GO models. There is no confirmation from Niantic yet, but these are likely to be the models for Generation 2 starters in Pokémon GO.
Once Niantic confirms this, we’ll let you know. Until then, enjoy the 3D goodness provided below. Don’t forget to follow us on social media for more Pokémon GO info and leaks.
Chikorita, Bayleef and Meganium models
Representing the first entries in the new Pokédex, the Grass family of Gen 2 startes is fabulous as we remember them from core Pokémon games. Chikorita is cute, but the model had some rendering problems with the vine whips. Bayleef colours are crazy good looking and Meganium is just as cute as we remember.
Cyndaquil, Quilava and Typhlosion models
The Fire family of Gen 2 starters looks good! Cyndaquil is cute, Quilava is a bit on the weird side due to it’s pose and obvious eye rendering problem, but it all gets good with Typhlosion. Look at him. Just look at that beast. Magnificent!
Totodile, Croconaw and Feraligatr models
All of the Gen 2 Water starter models look amazing! Totodile is as cute as we remember him, with Croconaw having that familiar Flintstones vibe and finally there’s Feraligatr, huge and menacing. All of the models are holding their hands out due to lack of animations.
Gen 2 Starter Stats and group picture
Now that you’ve seen them in full detail, a group picture is in order. Smile guys! You too Feraligatr! Jokes aside, we’ve calculated the potential Max CP for all Generation 2 Pokémon, including the 3 Starter families. The stats are below the group picture.
