Tales of a Small Community in Jaipur: GO Wild Area 2025 Global

Hey everyone! With the exciting GO Wild Area Global 2025 Pokémon GO event which happened worldwide on November 15th and 16th, I thought it’s the perfect time to share my experience of playing the event in my city and introduce our readers to a small but passionate Pokémon GO community from Jaipur, India.

Jaipur: Forts, Royalty, Kings and Pink

Founded on 18 November 1727, Jaipur, is known as the historic Pink City of Rajasthan in northern India,. It is a vibrant city full of colour, culture, and history all wrapped up in one. Famous for its iconic pink buildings, lively bazaars, and magnificent forts, it’s a place where tradition blends effortlessly with modern life.

As for our Pokémon GO Community, we are a small tight-knit group, but our passion for Pokémon GO and dedication to sharing strategies, raids, and local experiences make us a vibrant and welcoming group. Whether you’re a seasoned trainer or new to the game, we’re thrilled to share our journey with you and celebrate everything Pokémon GO brings to Jaipur.

And with the introduction done, lets dive right into the community experience and review of Global GO Wild Area. (Also, ICYMI, our GO Hub Editor in Chief kittypokemonsalot was at Doncaster for in-person official meet-up)

Day 1:Wild Area Adventures Begin

Day 1 started the way any big Pokémon GO event day should—by checking updates from trainers in the Eastern Time zones (our unsung heroes and unpaid testers). It’s the perfect early-morning ritual: scouting for new tips, glitches, or any surprise info before heading out.

By around 10 am, trainers began trickling into Jawahar Circle, a nice, easy to traverse Circular Park. Within an hour, the whole squad was there—about 15 to 20 of us in total. A lot of us had picked up the event ticket and were ready to make the most of it. Most of the group hung out together, talking and making fun of each other, catching wild Pokémon, shiny checks, running after those sought after mighty Pokémon and calling out the 100IVs. Of course, every group has those power walkers and serious grinders who’d zoom ahead, complaining that the rest of us were too slow… only to return empty-handed and immediately get roasted by everyone else. Classic!!!

Coming to raids, the flavor of the day was the Wilderness Cape Bewear. We did do a few Shadow Cresselia raids, but it was soon clear that what everyone wanted was that elusive Wilderness Cape Shiny Bewear. Fifty raids later, two trainers got lucky; the rest of us got… experience. The other big draw was the shiny Gmax Grimmsnarl, newly added to the roster. There was just one Max Spot in the park, but with a new Max Raid spawning every 30 minutes, we managed to get through our day’s worth of max particles easily. The Gmax battle was pretty chill too, with our 15-player lobbies and pre-planned defender-healer setups keeping things smooth.

By 3 p.m., everyone was exhausted and we decided to take a much needed break. Thankfully we have pleasant weather at this time of the year and by 4 p.m. we were back, with our phones and our body fully recharged to give one last push for the day. One twist awaited us: instead of boosted mighty spawns popping up only after the event window, as in the previous year, this time the bonus arrived in the final 15 minutes. The group scrambled, losing precious minutes to confusion, and with some participants already headed home, the last-minute haul was split amongst several smaller teams.

If I had to sum up, the day was on the whole pretty decent. It was great to hang out with friends and have a blast while playing the event. Coming to the event itself, I liked that event was not overwhelming, something that I have felt in some of the previous events. There was enough time to do raids, max battles, shiny checks and at the same time not having a feeling of FOMO while taking a break. Now for the flip side, shiny rates were rough. As a group, we barely saw any, and personally, I ended up with just one after a full day of grinding! and the nerfed safari ball catch rates felt like a let down. Between all of us, 17 perfect IV Pokémon ran away—three of which were mine. That stung a bit.

At the end of the day, the consensus in the community was pretty straightforward: solid event, fun with friends, but not really worth the paid ticket. The bonuses didn’t hit as hard as we’d hoped. Still, Day 1 was a blast—and that’s what really matters when you’re out there with your community, chasing Pokémon and memories at the same time.

Day 2: From Frustration to Fireworks

A fresh morning dawned at the same meet-up spot, and the group gathered once again with renewed hope. Among the paid ticket holders, there was one collective wish: a better Day 2. As the day kicked off with the usual shiny checks and hundo hunts, the spotlight had shifted. The once-hyped Cape Bear had gracefully stepped aside, and the Pitch Black Pokémon Shadow Darkrai had become every trainer’s dream catch. The excitement was palpable. Almost every Shadow Raid that appeared was tackled with eager determination, occasionally interrupted by a welcome visit from the towering G-Max Grimmsnarl.

But, as fate would have it, the first half of the day didn’t meet expectations. Disappointments trickled in as shiny rates stayed low, and spirits began to dip. Around 2 p.m., the group decided to take an early lunch break. Yet, when we regrouped at 3 p.m., everything changed…..

Suddenly, the atmosphere flipped. Shiny Pokémon began appearing left and right, hundos were being called out from every direction. Then came the moment we’d all been waiting for: someone in the group landed the elusive shundo! Mighty Galarian Weezing! Cheers erupted, and the luck didn’t stop there — another player soon pulled a shundo Mighty Hatterene from an incense spawn. With each Shadow Raid and Max Battle that followed, shiny Shadow Darkrai and Grimmsnarl encounters kept the momentum soaring.

As the event neared its final 15 minutes, our group regrouped once more — every single one of us together, ready for those boosted mighty spawns. Standing at the start of a route with incenses active, the magic began instantly. The first two spawns, Garchomp and Weavile, turned out to be hundos! All the earlier exhaustion and frustration vanished as calls of “hundo!” and “shiny!” echoed across the group. Those ahead in the route relayed IV details in real time so others — even non-ticket players — could join in or skip accordingly. The excitement peaked when a third shundo appeared — a Mighty Houndoom, this time for a non-ticket player. (A bittersweet twist: the same Houndoom ran from me!) Once the final countdown ended, we wrapped up the event with one last Shadow Darkrai raid and a Grimmsnarl Max Battle. The Max Battle was pretty standard, but our Community Leader pulled off the perfect ending — a 100 IV Shadow Darkrai from that final raid. Talk about saving the best for last.

Looking back, the second half of Day 2 completely turned things around. The shiny rates felt better — I managed to grab five, including the newly released shiny Impidimp — though the safari ball catch rate was still a bit of a headache. All in all, it was a day that reminded us why we love these events: the thrill of the catch, the shared excitement, and the unforgettable memories made along the way.
