Trainers,
Niantic just announced the next Pokemon GO event – Worldwide bloom! Worldwide bloom event lasts from May 5 to May 8 and features an influx (increased spawn) of grass Pokemon!
Event page is up: Pokémon GO Grass Event
Update #1: Lures will last 6 hours during the weekend, as confirmed by Niantic on Twitter!
No Store sales were announced, nor there will be double XP or Stardust for this event, just increased Grass spawns and longer Lure Modules.
To remind you, these Pokemon are grass types in Generation I and II, excluding the ones that require evolution items:
- Bulbasaur, Ivysaur, Venusaur
- Oddish, Gloom, Vileplume
- Paras, Parasect
- Bellsprout, Weepinbell, Victreebell
- Exeggcute, Exeggutor
- Tangela
- Chikorita, Bayleef, Meganium
- Hoppip, Skiploom, Jumpluff
- Sunkern
- Celebi 🙂 – joking, he’s not showing up!
Official announcement:
Professor Willow’s research into Pokémon habitats around the world has uncovered some interesting findings. His initial reports indicate that we’ll see an influx of Grass-type Pokémon sometime this weekend. These Pokémon will appear in the wild more frequently starting the afternoon of May 5, but only for a short period of time. We anticipate that Pokémon will return to their normal habitats on May 8, 2017 PDT.
Help us contribute to Professor Willow’s ongoing research by catching as many Grass-type Pokémon as possible this weekend. While you’re out with friends and family, don’t forget to document your findings using the Pokémon GO AR camera and share your screenshots on social media using #PokemonGO.
Interestingly, the Pokemon company’s Twitter account shows Chikorita and Bulbasaur, so we’re suspecting these ones will be quite common during the event:
