Pokémon GO Bronzong is a Steel and Psychic type Pokémon, which evolves from Bronzor. As a minimum it will likely require 50 candy to evolve from Bronzor, in line with almost all other two stage evolutions.
Bronzong has a MAX CP of 2026, with an ATK of 161, DEF of 213 and STA of 134, meaning it is not a meta-relevant Pokémon, but rather a collectible.
Bronzong in the meta game
Many people compare Bronzong to Metagross, another Steel and Psychic type from Generation III. Unlike Metagross, whose performance is only hampered by it’s incredibly bad move pool, Bronzong doesn’t have the stats to follow it. Potentially, if the combat system changes dramatically and Niantic decides to rework Pokemon stats / abilities / strengths, Bronzong could find a place in the meta. Otherwise, it’s not relevant as a Steel or as a Psychic type.
We suggest putting it as a Gym defender as a Psychic wall versus attacking Machamp and Hariyama.
Depending how rare Bronzor is considered, Bronzong’s Buddy distance could either be 1km or 3km. We certainly wouldn’t expect it to be 5km per candy. There will most likely be rarer and more meta-relevant Pokémon whose candy will be much more valuable, so be sure to weigh this up before making Bronzong your Buddy.
Bronzong will not hatch from eggs.
As a Steel and Psychic type, Bronzong can receive a weather boost from Snow and Windy weather. Any Bronzong with a CP of 1737 or over will have been boosted beyond level 30 by the weather and has a maximum capture CP of 1881 when boosted.
Raid Boss Potential
Bronzong isn’t likely to be a Raid Boss. If for any reason it is, its maximum Raid capture CP would be 1157, or 1447 if weather boosted.

Shiny Bronzong is noticeably different in colour to normal; it’s a pale green instead of the standard blue.
