A reputable source of leaks has shared an interesting bit of information today – a new Pokémon GO event is rumored to be planned for June. Although this source has leaked correctly in the past, be aware that this is a leak, not verified news, so take this with a grain of salt.

Allegedly, a fire and ice event is soon to be announced by Niantic’s official Pokémon GO social accounts. The whole leaked media statement is at the bottom of the article.

The event celebrates the beginning of summer in Northern and winter in Southern Hemisphere and should take place between June 13 1:00 P.M. PDT and June 20 1:00 P.M. PDT, 2017.


In addition to increased spawn rates of Ice and Fire Pokémon, Trainers should receive more XP for all throw bonuses and for hatching Eggs. A 50% Lucky Egg discount is also rumored.

From 1:00 P.M. PDT on June 13 to 1:00 P.M. PDT on June 20, 2017, Trainers around the world will discover more Charmander, Cyndaquil, Growlithe, Houndour, Ponyta, Swinub, Vulpix, and their Evolutions. You’ll also want to keep an eye out for Sneasel, Magmar, Cloyster, and other Fire types and Ice types!

It’s time to perfect your Poké Ball throws, Trainers! Throughout the event, you’ll receive huge XP bonuses for successfully catching Pokémon with Nice, Great, and Excellent Throws, as well as Curveballs and First Throws. Additionally, as you walk around your neighborhoods or discover new sights, you’ll earn even more XP for hatching Eggs.
