Dratini Fact Sheet

Dratini

Dratini is a Dragon-type Pokémon. Dratini is weak to Dragon, Fairy, and Ice-type moves. It takes reduced damage from Electric, Fire, Grass, and Water-type moves. Mega Pokémon that boost Dratini

The following Pokémon will grant you extra bonuses when catching Dratini if they are Mega/Primal evolved:

A Note on Mega Catch Bonus

While a Pokémon is Mega-Evolved, additional XP and Candy is granted when catching a Pokémon that shares a type with it, or for any raid boss caught. These do not stack with each other. Additionally, High and Max Level Mega-Evolved Pokémon grant an increased chance to obtain Candy XL when catching a Pokémon that shares a type with it.

Is it worth evolving Dratini?

There’s something about the Dratini family that makes them special. Last season TontonBatteuse wow’d the European Internationals stage with his Dragonair. And now Wdage is out here getting the first on-stream tournament win of the season with a Dragonite.

Now, does that mean Dragonite is the new replacement for the now nerfed Altaria as a fellow DragonFlying Pokémon? I personally don’t think so. While they do share the typing, Dragonite only benefits as a Flying type defensively, as it doesn’t typically want to run any flying-type moves. And even then, the Flying type does make Dragonite even worse against Registeel than Dragon types already were. As Registeel’s Zap Cannon is now going to do neutral damage, as opposed to being resisted by Dragonite.

Nevertheless, Dragonite was never a bad Pokémon for the Great League despite its main home being the Master League. And it definitely worked out well for Wdage, helping him win the Pittsburgh Regional.
