Latios Raid Guide

Latios

Latios is a Tier 5 Legendary Raid boss in Pokemon GO, with 52220 Raid Boss CP and Dragon and Psychic typing. Best Latios counters are strong Dragon type Pokemon. Shiny Latios is available from raids.

Latios is the blue-colored part of the Eon Duo. Latios’ max capture combat power is as follows:

  • 2090 – 2178 CP (no weather boost, lvl 20, 100% IV)
  • 2613 – 2723 CP (Windy weather, lvl 25, 100% IV)

We recommend bringing a minimum of 3 – 4 Trainers to defeat a Latios raid. The minimum Trainers count will go up if you’re unlucky with charge moves or faced against a difficult moveset.

Latios moves and counters breakdown

Latios is one of the more difficult fights we have ever had to write a guide about. With its dual Dragon and Psychic typing, it seemed really simple to pick counters initially, right? No, not really, as its Attack stat is devastating, its move pool is complex and your counter selection will heavily depend on the opposing Latios’ moves.

Latios has access to the following moves:

Fast Moves Charge Moves
  • Dragon Breath Dragon
  • Zen Headbutt Psychic
  • Dragon Claw Dragon
  • Psychic Psychic
  • Solar Beam Grass

The obvious choice is always to pack a Rayquaza, a Dragonite, another Latios and whatever else you have that deals a lot of DPS. If you have the ability to Mega-evolve any counters, it is recommended, even if just to give a boost to your teammates. Keep in mind that Dragon type counters will take super-effective damage if the opposing Latios has Dragon Breath and/or Dragon Claw.
