Magcargo Raid Guide

Magcargo

Magcargo is available in Tier 3 raids in Pokémon GO with a raid boss CP of 3600HP. The prepared trainer should have no problem taking it down as it is a very easy raid boss to defeat. Lower level trainers, or those without ideal counters, may want to bring a friend.

After the raid, Magcargo can be caught with the following CP values 

• 914 – 972 CP, at Level 20 with no weather boost 
• 1142 – 1215 CP, at Level 25 with weather boost, during Sunny and Partly Cloudy weather conditions

Magcargo is a dual Fire and Rock type Pokémon. Magcargo caught from raid battles cannot be shiny. 

Magcargo Counters

Since Shadow Pokémon are extremely expensive to power up and require specific events to remove Frustration with a Charge TM, they will NOT be listed as raid counters in this article. That being said, if you have the shadow form of a listed raid counter Pokémon powered up and TMed, use it. The figures in our database for DPS and TDO are calculated using Level 40 Pokémon with perfect IVs.

Moveset

Magcargo is a decent Pokémon to run in the Great League and some other limited time cups like the recent Sunshine Cup. So it might be useful doing these raids if you still need candy for this Pokémon.
