May marks the debut of two new Ultra Beasts: Blacephalon and Stakataka, and the worldwide release of Diancie, with the Special Research “Glitz and Glam”, on May 1st.

Rivals Week Event runs from May 4th to May 9th 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and is focused on rival Pokémon like Throh/Sawk, Zangoose/Seviper and Heatmor/Durant. All of these Pokémon are regionals, so it’s a excellent oportunity to hunt for that shiny regional you’re still missing!

Bonuses:
- 4× Stardust from win rewards. Maximum sets per day increased to 20. (This does not include end-of-set rewards.)

May Community Day is Bounsweet, the Fruit Pokémon! They have a fantastic shiny, and Tsareena gains access to the new move High Jump Kick, plus enjoy the 1/4 hatch distance bonus. Full information here.
Master Ball Special Research is back with the Catching Wonders event! The following bonuses will be active: 10x Experience from your First Catch of the Day, 5x Stardust from your First Catch of the Day and 10x Experience from your First PokéStop Spin of the day.
Blacephalon and Stakataka make their Pokémon GO debut in the Ultra Space Wonders event! Evolve your Poipole into Nagandel, and chase shiny Mareanie for the first time.

During May a host of exciting Pokémon will star as featured Pokémon, but the focus goes to Shadow Suicune and the debut of Ultra Beasts Blacephalon (Western Hemisphere) and Stakataka (Eastern Hemisphere).

Tapu Fini
Knows Nature's Madness
A brand new move will be added to Tapu Fini’s move pool: Nature’s Madness! In the main series it is a Fairy type attack, and in Pokémon GO it debuted last month. Nature’s Madness is an excellent move, with the following stats:
- Trainer Battles: 80 power, lower opposing Pokémon’s Defense
- Gyms and raids: 90 power
It will be available for all Tapu Fini caught during May 2024, and will be obtainable via Elite TM after this month.
