Makuhita A short, stout, humanoid Pokémon with a round yellow body and thick arms. It has black markings on its hands and feet, a small red marking on its cheeks, and a knot-like structure on its head resembling a tied-up bag. Similar to a regular Makuhita, but its body is a pale gold color instead of yellow. The black markings remain the same, and the red cheek markings are unchanged.
Hariyama A large, bulky Pokémon with a sumo-wrestler-like appearance. It has a deep blue lower body, thick muscular arms with large orange hands, and a yellow upper body. Its head features a crest-like structure, and it has wide, powerful legs built for stability. The same imposing sumo-wrestler shape, but with a golden-yellow upper body and deep purple lower body instead of blue. The large hands are now a deep red instead of orange.

Mega Pokémon that boost Makuhita

The following Pokémon will grant you extra bonuses when catching Makuhita if they are Mega-evolved.

Mega Catch Bonus

While a Pokémon is Mega-Evolved, additional XP and Candy are granted when catching a Pokémon that shares a type with it, or for any raid boss caught. These do not stack with each other. Additionally, High and Max Level Mega-Evolved Pokémon grant an increased chance to obtain Candy XL when catching a Pokémon that shares a type with it.

Is it worth evolving Makuhita?

Hariyama is one of the strongest Generation III additions to Pokemon GO, bringing a completely new alternative to Machamp and Heracross. It fills a particularly sought after niche: an affordable, top tier, fighting type Pokemon to use in raids.

Hariyama is bulky, powerful and has access to some of the best fighting moves in the game: Counter and Dynamic Punch.
