The hard skull is considered to be Cranidos's most distinguishing feature. It has stubby arms with three claws; despite the stubbiness, it can attack with them. The back half of its body has a large, spiky pattern of blue and it has a short tail. It has feet with three forward claws and one backward. Shiny Cranidos has orange irises, red head and spikes on its back.
Rampardos Rampardos is a large, dark-gray, dinosaur-like Pokémon resembling a Pachycephalosaurus. It has a pearl-like dome crowning its head, which obstructs its red eyes. It has blue stripes, one on its tail, and one on each of its knees and wrists. It has various spikes: one on each knee, two on the blue-collar on its neck, two short ones on its nose, and four on its head. Two of these head spikes are bigger than the other two. Rampardos is well-known for its deadly physical strength which is often employed within its fierce head-butting attacks. Shiny Rampardos has red stripes and spikes and a brown body.

Mega Pokémon that boost Cranidos

The following Pokémon will grant you extra bonuses when catching Cranidos if they are Mega/Primal evolved:

A Note on Mega Catch Bonus

While a Pokémon is Mega-Evolved, additional XP and Candy is granted when catching a Pokémon that shares a type with it, or for any raid boss caught. These do not stack with each other. Additionally, High and Max Level Mega-Evolved Pokémon grant an increased chance to obtain Candy XL when catching a Pokémon that shares a type with it.

Is it worth evolving Cranidos?

Rampardos has some utility as a raid attacker in PVE, if you have the candy it’s worth having one powered up. In short, Rampardos has a very high DPS, or damage per second, and therefore can get more damage off in the short time it lives, which contrasts with Tyranitar and Rhyperior’s lower DPS and higher TDO, total damage output. Having higher DPS is important if you are timing out of raids, on a solo or a duo, and having a higher TDO is important if you are fainting out, so that you can hold on for a little while longer. Finding your sweet spot of not fainting, but getting the most damage off in the least time is your goal when team building for your specific need.

It has some, but limited use in the Great League.
