Seviper Raid Counters

Seviper

Seviper is a three star raid boss in Pokémon GO. The best counters for Seviper are strong Psychic and Ground types. It is a Poison type Pokémon and has a raid boss CP of 14600. It can be caught with the following perfect CPs:

  • 1137 – 1203 CP (raid catch with no weather boost, level 20)
  • 1421 – 1504 CP (raid catch with Cloudy weather boost, level 25)

Seviper can be soloed by a high level trainer with strong counters, but if you are just starting out and have no high level Psychic or Ground-types, we would recommend inviting another friend to help you.

Seviper Counters

Seviper is weak to Psychic and Ground types. The table below shows the best Seviper counters:

Seviper Counters
The supreme Seviper Raid Counters
Mewtwo (Shadow) Confusion Psychic Psystrike Psychic
Mewtwo Confusion Psychic Psystrike Psychic
Great Seviper raid counters
Landorus (Therian) Mud Shot Ground Earthquake Ground
Espeon Confusion Psychic PsychicPsychic
Latios Zen Headbutt Psychic Psychic Psychic
Alakazam Confusion Psychic Psychic Psychic
Excadrill Mud-Slap Ground Earthquake Ground
Azelf Confusion Psychic Future Sight Psychic
Rhyperior Mud-Slap Ground Earthquake Ground
Landorus Mud Shot Ground Earth Power Ground
Groudon Mud Shot Ground Earthquake Ground
Garchomp Mud Shot Ground Earthquake Ground
Mewtwo is by far the best Poison counter in the game. If you already have a powered-up Shadow Mewtwo, that will do even better. Psystrike is recommended but you can use Psychic if you don’t have the Elite TM to change it.

If you don’t have Mewtwo, you can use a bevy of Ground and Psychic Pokémon that would do a great job. If you caught Landorus-Therian, that would be the best Ground-type counter. Shadow Alakazam deserves a shout out if you have it, but regular Alakazam and Espeon will also work fine.

Seviper Movesets

Seviper movepool is not that great, but there are specific moves you should look out for. If battling against Crunch, make sure to dodge when you are using Psychic-types. If it has Iron Tail, Pokémon like Rhyperior that have a Steel-type weakness should be avoided if possible.

Fast move Charge move
  • Poison Jab Poison
  • Iron Tail Steel
  • Poison Fang Poison
  • Crunch Dark
  • Wrap Normal

Conclusion

If you caught a few Mewtwo, Seviper would be an easy solo, as long as you dodge Crunch. You can also use other Psychic or Ground types if you weren’t able to secure a Mewtwo. They may not be as great as Mewtwo, but you’ll still be able to solo Seviper with ease regardless.
