Good day, Pokémon Trainers! The Pokémon GO World Championships are in full swing. This means trainers around the world are bringing their A-game in order to secure the title of “World Champion”. However, trainers will have to go through a gauntlet of other trainers for three whole days for this prestigious title. What this means is 3 days of intense competition, 3 days of hype matches, and 3 days of trainers putting everything on the line, making every prediction and every catch to get an inch closer to victory!
And that’s where I come in. Whether you’ve missed some of the key matches or want to relive some of the best moments, I’ll be bringing you some of the highlights of each day and providing a brief description and analysis for each. But now we’re at the end of the road, the Grand Finals!
Setting The Tempo
So, to set the stage a bit: Beelzeboy started from the losers’ side of the bracket, sent there by his opponent P4tom4n. Nevertheless, Beelzeboy did have the team composition advantage, especially with that Galarian Moltres, which won him the first game.
Keeping Calm
Undeterred by the first loss, P4tom4n struck right back. Winning the second game. P4tom4n is a seasoned player, and this call right here really sealed the deal in the second game.
A Call for a Call
Beelzeboy says, “If you can do it, I can too,” and right in the next match calls a double resisted attack to win the match.
SNIPER
We fast forward a bit. Beelzeboy managed to reset the bracket; it’s a clean slate now. Not wanting to lose momentum, Beelzeboy was in absolute focus. Sniping the Corsola and all of its energy and securing another win.
Taking a Calculated Risk
We fast-forward again, only one match this time, Beelzeboy was starting to get comfortable, and just then, P4tom4n got a win. So Beelzeboy had to smartly re-adjust. He brought in the Annihilape, and it saw the exact Pokémon it’d love to see.
Fast Attack Down
All three days of the championship series, we have seen trainers battle to the absolute limit until only a few fast attacks determine the game. P4tom4n did that right here to stay in the game for one more match.
The Final Moments
And there we have it! 9 WHOLE BATTLES! Neither trainer is giving up, trading win for win, loss for loss. But we needed to have a champion, and we have one. All throughout Championship Sunday, we saw Beelzeboy relying on that trusty Steelix and Galarian Moltres core. But at the end, his tenacity, his perseverance, and his Lapras sealed the deal. Congratulations, Beelzeboy, you are the 2025 World Champion!
Closing Remarks
Each day of the tournament, I’ve been trying to find a word to best describe each day of the tournament. On the final day, I think it has to be Intense!
The intensity was at an all-time high. These trainers played to their limits. Beelzeboy coming from the losers’ bracket, P4tom4n with a team compositional disadvantage. Yet neither trainer gave up. Really, it could’ve been anyone’s game, and that’s what we love to see. I can only hope we see more!
