Pokémon TCG Pocket has become a global phenomenon, with fans burning through booster packs every day in pursuit of the rarest cards in the game. While that card’s art and rarity are great initiatives, some of them are built better for decks.
If you’re sick of riding on luck and RNG to get the top pulls designed for combat, you can instead bank on the crafting system to grab cards that make you a ruthless TCG expert. So buckle up, as we swoon into the crafting mechanic and then highlight the best cards to craft in TCG Pocket!
Crafting is the use of Pack Points, one of TCG Pocket’s in-game currency, to grab cards from the Pack Point Exchange.
Each card costs a certain number of Pack Points. The common finds are as low as 35 Pack Points while the rarest ones are a whopping 2500 Pack Points!
Pack Points are obtained by opening booster packs and using Pack Stamina. For each booster pack you open, you get 5 Pack Points. As such, players without the Premium Pass can collect 10 Pack Points per day. Those with a Premium Pass can get up to 15 Pack Points per day.
Remember that you can get extra Pack Points each day if you use items or gold to open more booster packs.
By crafting, you are guaranteed to get the cards you want and as such, you can use them to build OP decks that make quick work of your opponents in battle.
With that being said, let’s dive into the best craftable cards for your decks to earn bragging rights in TCG Pocket! 😎
Mewtwo EX (500 Pack Points)
While 500 Pack Points looks like an expensive investment, you can bet that this card is totally worth it! Featuring the one-and-only Mewtwo, this Legendary can give any opponent a run for their money!
A Basic card featuring a gargantuan HP, it can be positioned to start trading blows with just one Colorless and one Psychic Energy.
But what makes it truly frightening is the ridiculous Psydrive that deals a jaw-dropping 150 DMG. While getting to use a Psydrive seems to be a pain, our next card halves the waiting period 😮
Gardevoir (150 Pack Points)
Mewtwo ex and Gardevoir are a match made in heaven, spelling hell for their opponents 😈
Gardevoir’s ability, Psy Shadow, helps Mewtwo in the Active Spot get two Psychic Energies in one turn. This means that in just two turns, Mewtwo is ready to go with Psydrive and blasts the opposition with no mercy
And in the next turn, Mewtwo is all set again! This duo forms the core of the Psychic deck and is the reason behind the notoriety associated with this deck. Get these both, and if you’ve been lucky enough to have pulled any one of these cards, focus on the other with your Pack Points
Pikachu EX (500 Pack Points)
The Pikachu EX card is a menace. Its Circle Circuit attack can start zapping in just two turns and deals a neat 90 damage, assuming you have three Benched Lightning Pokémon.
As a Basic card, you can gain an overpowering advantage early on with Pika Pika in your Active Spot and dishing out 90 DMG left and right. This is why Lightning decks are increasingly becoming popular among players. Go get it!
Moltres EX (500 Pack Points)
Moltres EX is a ‘bench warmer’ but not in the traditional way! 😉
With just one Fire Energy, this Legendary performs Inferno Dance, which makes you flip three coins and for each head, lets you attach a Fire energy to your Benched Pokémon in any way you like! 😯
So, if you get two to three heads on one turn, and again on the second turn, a Benched Charizard EX is ready to fire off the insane Crimson Storm (200 DMG) right from the moment it’s active! This combo makes the Fire deck terrifying.
While it’s true that the coin flip shenanigans rely on RNG, Moltres’ support through even one Fire Energy goes a long way in unleashing your deck’s heat and often comes in clutch through tough situations.
Misty Trainer card (70 Pack Points)
This humble 70 Pack Points card is the reason behind players having nightmares facing Water-type decks. No kidding!
Basically, you flip a coin until you get tails. For each head, Misty grants a single Water Energy to a Pokémon chosen by you. So theoretically, you can have up to 100 Water Energy stacked up and sweep the opponent in no time. It’s no wonder that Misty has become the most hated figure in an opponent’s team during battles 😆
Giovanni Trainer card (70 Pack Points)
Prepare for trouble, make it +10 😎
Imagine those matches where you’re down to the wire with 2 wins each. Both you and your opponent are going all out, and then you lose. It’s not just any loss, it’s one where you could have won if you could have chipped in some extra damage, but alas!
Frustrating, right? Fear not, as the Team Rocket Boss has your back!
Thus supporter card lends 10 more damage to that dealt by your Active Pokémon. 10 may not look much but in those battles where you have a worthy opponent, these extra 10 damage figures are the game changer.
Sabrina Trainer card (70 Pack Points)
Misty gets hailed as the evil incarnate, but folks, Sabrina is THE real deal. 👿
The spunky Water-type Gym Leader from Kanto may turn Water decks into tidal waves, but it surfs along RNG. Sabrina, on the other hand, straight up blows your opponent’s strategies out of the water!
This card essentially forces your opponent to switch out their Active Pokémon to something on their Bench. With this, your opponent has no option but to forego their potentially rampaging Active Pokémon and switch to a weaker Benched one.
You can summon Sabrina from your Hand when you feel that the opponent’s Active spot is threatening, instantly giving you an advantage as you eliminate their potentially winning spot.
Talk about mind games! Psychic-type Gym Leader, after all! 😉
These were the best cards to craft, as they give you a definitive edge over your opponent or insanely strong decks to win with.
Keep opening booster packs to garner a huge amount of Pack Point and have a field day crafting the best of the lot. As you win more battles, you get to level up quickly and earn more rewards.
All the best, crafters!
