Pokémon TCG Pocket Currency Guide

Let’s get down to basics! Pokémon TCG Pocket has a simply massive variety of different in-game currencies that can be used in various shops, to impact timers and more. There are so many currencies that it can be quite overwhelming, so let’s break it down and explain each currency and their usage.

Poké Gold

Poké Gold is the paid premium currency in Pokémon TCG Pocket. It is only obtainable via purchase with real money, and can be used to buy in-game shop bundles, booster pack hourglasses (which we will cover below), cosmetic items and more. They look like gold bars.

Shop Tickets

Shop Tickets are a currency that can be used in the in-game shop. They are the pink and blue striped currency. You can use Shop Tickets to purchase a variety of items, from Pack and Wonder Hourglass, to accessories and promo cards.

You can earn Shop Tickets in a variety of different ways:

  • Completing Missions
  • Completing Solo Battle missions
  • Receiving thanks from other trainers

Special Shop Tickets

A Special Shop Ticket is a unique shop currency which is used to purchase special cosmetics in the in-game shop. You can obtain Special Shop Tickets by recycling duplicate 1☆, 2☆, 3☆, and gold crown cards.

Special Shop Tickets can be used to purchase special accessories or items at the in-game shop. These tickets are a blue ticket with a gold bag and gold edges.

Premium Tickets

Premium Tickets are exclusively available to those subscribed to the Premium Pass in Pokémon TCG Pocket. They can be used to purchase exclusive premium promo cards and cosmetics from the in-game premium shop.

You can get Premium Tickets by completing Premium Missions which renew monthly. Premium Tickets are a golden ticket with a bag depicted on them.

Event Shop Tickets

Event Shop Tickets are blue tickets that are linked to the current in-game events. They are only obtainable during events, and can be used to purchase event exclusive items. They can be earned via the Bonus Pick option in the Wonder Pick, and from event missions.

Emblem Tickets

Emblem Tickets are a purple ticket shaped like an emblem that can be used to purchase special themed emblems that a player can display on their profile. You can earn Emblem Tickets by completing Themed Collections and Dex Missions.

Advance Ticket

The Advance Ticket is an item which was added when the game released globally. Players are able to get this item as a gift by logging in between October 30, 2024 and January 30, 2025. It is currently unknown what this ticket is for. It is a pastel rainbow ticket with white accents and a white question mark depicted on it.

Pack and Wonder Hourglass

There are two types of Hourglass in game currently. The Pack Hourglass and the Wonder Hourglass.

The Pack Hourglass is the purple hourglass with the Pikachu head on top of it. It can be used to decrease the time between booster pack openings. Pack Hourglass can be obtained by completing certain missions, by levelling up, and are available for purchase in the in-game shop.

The Wonder Hourglass is the gold hourglass with the heart shape on top of it. It can be used to refresh your Wonder Stamina decreasing the time you need to wait between Wonder Picks. You can earn Wonder Hourglass from certain missions, by levelling up and they can be purchased in the in-game shop.

Pack Points

Pack Points are accumulated by opening booster packs and using Pack Stamina. Pack Points are depicted as blue/purple booster packs.

For every booster pack you open, you can obtain 5 Pack Points. This means for players without the premium pass you can obtain 10 Pack Points per day. For players with a premium pass you can obtain 15 Pack Points per day. You can obtain extra Pack Points each day if you choose to use items or gold to open more booster packs.

You can only have a maximum of 2500 Pack Points at any one time, so be sure to spend them occasionally!

Rewind Watch

The Rewind Watch is can be used to select expired Wonder Picks in the Wonder Pick menu. It is shown as an orange and gold stop watch.You can earn Rewind Watches as a level up reward.

Shinedust

Shinedust can be used to add Flair to your Pokémon, which is a cosmetic change only. It is shown as a jar with a shiny substance inside, and a star keyring.

When you have enough copies of a specific card you can trade copies of it along with Shinedust in order to obtain a Sparkles: Gold Flair which can then be used on the remaining copies of the same card.

Once you have unlocked Sparkles: Gold Flair you can then continue to unlock further more expensive Flair. Typically you obtain Shinedust by getting duplicate copies of cards.

Trade Tokens

A trade token in Pokémon TCG pocket. It is a green circle made up of two arrows. In the centre is a green silhouette that looks like a game boy, on a green background.

Trade Tokens are one of the required items for some trades in Pokémon TCG Pocket. These can be obtained through special events or in the Obtain Items section by consuming duplicate cards with a rarity of three diamonds or higher.

To get to the Obtain Items section, click into your ‘My Cards’ section, the second tab in the bottom main menu, and click on the individual card you wish to trade in. There will then be a button to Obtain Items underneath the card itself. Click that, and you will be asked what you wish to trade it for. Only card that are 3 Diamond and above rarity can be exchanged for Trade Tokens.

The higher level rarity the card, the most Trade Tokens you get in return. Here is what exchanging one card in the Obtain Items section gives for each rarity rewards in Trade Tokens:
