Mega Pokémon that boost Lechonk

Trainers who plan to participate should be prepared with a Mega Pokémon to maximise candy gains per Pokémon caught. Here’s everything you need to know! If you want further information about Spotlight Hours, check out our comprehensive guide.

The following Pokémon will grant you extra bonuses when catching Lechonk if they are Mega-evolved.

Mega Catch Bonus

While a Pokémon is Mega-Evolved, additional XP and Candy are granted when catching a Pokémon that shares a type with it, or for any raid boss caught. These do not stack with each other. Additionally, High and Max Level Mega-Evolved Pokémon grant an increased chance to obtain Candy XL when catching a Pokémon that shares a type with it.

Is it worth evolving Lechonk?

PVE

Female Oinkologne is a B tier gym defender – as it is pretty bulky. So a decent option if you don’t have better alternatives.

PVP

Even the female version of Oinkologne (which is bulkier than the male version, so keep that firmly in mind as you grind, folks!) isn’t as thicc as Lickitung, or even Snorlax. And thus Oinkologne ends up looking rather tepid overall, trailing Snorlax (and even Munchlax with the same Normal moves and a worse Ground charge move) and especially Lickitung in effectiveness. And in Ultra League, not only is Oinkologne no better than Snorlax (coming in with much slower and recently nerfed Ground move Earthquake), it cannot even top Lickilicky, something that doesn’t even see (much) play!
