The Pokémon GO Fossil Research Day is set to be held on August 2, 2025. This event will focus on the popular Gen 6 dino duo of Tyrunt and Amaura, which will be available from event-themed Field Research tasks with boosted Shiny rates. Additionally, you will also be able to catch several Fossil Pokémon during the event.
Pokémon GO Sweet Swarm Event
The Pokémon GO Sweet Swarm 2025 is a global event running from August 3 to August 6, 2025. This event features boost chances of encountering Shiny Combee and Shiny Swirlix! On top of that, enjoy one hour Lure Modules that are more likely to attract event themed Pokémon.
Gigantamax Butterfree Max Battle Day
Gigantamax Butterfree Max Battle Day takes place on Sunday August 3, 2:00 p.m to 5:00 p.m. local time! During the event, all Power Spots will host Gigantamax Battles, and Power Spots will refresh more frequently. If you’re lucky, you may encounter a Shiny Butterfree capable of Gigantamaxing!
Pokémon GO Cozy Companions
Pokémon GO Cozy Companions event runs from August 6, 2025 to August 12, 2025. This event features the debut of Snom and Frosmoth, plus the shiny release of Tandemaus! On top of that, an increased chance to encounter Tandemaus from Party Play and more bonuses.
Pokémon GO Munchlax Hatch Day
Munchlax Hatch Day takes place on Saturday, August 9, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. Munchlax will hatch much more frequently from 2 km Eggs. You’ll also have an increased chance of hatching Shiny Munchlax!

Delightful Days: Taken Over is the latest Team GO Rocket Takeover event that runs from Monday, August 11, at 12:00 a.m. to Sunday, August 17, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. local time. During that time, Trainers will have the opportunity to remove Frustration, save Shadow Giratina, and face Rocket Grunts and Rocket Leaders who are using new Shadow Pokémon!
Pokémon World Championships 2025 and GO Battle Weekend
The Pokémon GO World Championships 2025 is a global event running from August 15 to August 17, 2025. This event introduces Varsity Jacket Pikachu! On top of that, enjoy special raids and spawns, and the ability to evolve certain Pokémon to obtain their special moves. Plus enjoy GO Battle Weekend!
Shadow Kyogre Raid Weekend
Shadow Kyogre features in Pokémon GO during a special Shadow Raid Day event on Saturday, August 16, 2025 and Sunday, August 17, 2025. Trainers can look forward to Shadow Kyogre in Shadow Raids for the first time, with the potential to be shiny, and one extra free raid pass per day during event hours.
Pokémon GO Dark Skies
Pokémon GO Dark Skies is a special worldwide event that runs from August 18, 2025 to August 23, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. local time. During this time, Trainers level 13 and above can brave a weeklong gauntlet of raids, Max Battles, and more for the chance to battle and catch every Dynamax and Gigantamax Pokémon that has appeared in Pokémon GO so far.
Pokémon GO Fest 2025: Max Finale
Pokémon GO Fest 2025: Max Finale is a special worldwide event that runs from August 23, 2025 at 10.00 a.m. to August 24, 2025, at 18:00 p.m. local time. During this time, Eternatmax Eternatus will take over the majority of Power Spots during Pokémon GO Fest 2025: Max Finale.
Pokémon GO Sunkissed Shores event runs from August 25, 2025, to August 31, 2025. This event features the debut of Dondozo, along with the return of Slakoth in a visor, Tatsugiri in raids and more.
Rookidee Community Day
Pokémon GO’s August 2025 Community Day features Rookidee, the Tiny Bird Pokémon! Rookidee Community Day takes place on Saturday, August 30, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time.
Evolving Corvisquire during the event will result in Corviknight knowing the exclusive charge attack Air Cutter .
Mega Gyarados Raid Day
Mega Gyarados features in Pokémon GO during a special Raid Day event on Sunday, August 31st, 2025. Trainers can look forward to an increased chance to encounter Gyarados, up to five additional free Raid Passes from spinning Gym Photo Discs, and a temporarily increased Remote Raid Pass limit.
Research Breakthrough
Complete Field Research to unlock Research Breakthrough encounters with one of the following Pokémon. These Pokémon will appear as Research Breakthrough Rewards from June 3, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. to September 2, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. local time
