Victreebel Raid Boss

Pokemon GO Victreebel Raid Guide

Victreebel is a Tier 4 Raid Boss in Pokemon GO, with Boss CP of 25794 and Max Capture CP of 1389 (Level 20, perfect IV score) or 1736 (Level 25, weather boosted perfect IV score). This page details best Victreebel Raid Counters and how to counter Victreebel effectively. Don’t get eaten by this plant!

Victreebel is not soloable and it is required to have at least 2-3 Trainers in order to take it down. Victreebel is a grass poison type with a lot of weaknesses: fire, psychic, ice and flying moves. Victreebel has no double weaknesses, but can be easily burned to the ground.

Just looking at the table above, it’s incredibly easy to figure out how to counter Victreebel: with fire and mind power! But seriously, there is not much to countering Victreebell, we’re using the strongest Pokemon and their strongest type-advantageous move sets.

There are only a few moves you’re interested in here: Confusion, any charged Psychic move, Fire Spin and Overheat. These are the strongest Psychic and Fire typed moves and it made sense to use them against a human eating plant.

Additionally, the same counters can be applied to any other grasspoison opponent.

Victreebel has access to following moves:

  • Razor Leaf grass (quick)
  • Acid poison (quick)
  • Solar Beam grass (charged, one bar)
  • Sludge Bomb poison (charged, two bar)
  • Leaf Blade grass (charged, three bar)

Additional Victreebel Counters

Victreebel can be countered with several weaker options and we believe this will often be the case. For this section of the guide, we are including some controversial and unusual raiding choices. Please, use this in larger groups (4+), don’t let your team wipe.

Without further ado:

  • Lugia with Extrasensory / Sky Attack
  • Flareon with Fire Spin / Overheat
