July Community Day features Poliwag, the Tadpole Pokémon. On July 30, 2023, Poliwag will appear more frequently in the wild, and lucky Trainers may encounter a shiny Poliwag.
Poliwrath evolved during the event will know the Fast Attack Counter Fighting. Politoed evolved during the event will know the Charged Attack Ice Beam Ice. These will have some impact on PvP, especially Poliwrath, so check out our full PvP analysis.

Poliwag will appear more frequently in the wild.
1/4 Hatch distance for eggs placed in incubators during the event
2× Candy for catching Pokémon.
2× chance for Trainers level 31 and up to receive Candy XL from catching Pokémon.
Lure Modules activated during the event will last for three hours.
Incense (excluding Daily Adventure Incense) activated during the event will last for three hours.

Trades made during the event will require 50% less Stardust.*
One additional Special Trade can be made for a maximum of three for the day*

Poliwag will appear more frequently in the wild. If you’re lucky, you may find a Shiny one! Poliwag is a Water type Pokémon with a max CP of 937, 101 ATK, 82 DEF and 120 STA. Poliwag is boosted by Rainy weather.
Evolving Poliwag
Poliwag evolves into Poliwhirl, and then into Poliwrath, or Politoed if a Kings Rock is used. 125 Candy is needed in total.

Four-Star Raids

Poliwhirl will appear in four-star raids! After the three-hour Community Day event ends, Trainers will be able to take on unique four-star Raid Battles. Claiming victory in one of these raids will cause more Poliwag to appear around the Gym that hosted the raid for 30 minutes! Defeat Poliwhirl using our special tier 4 raid guide.

You can only join these raids using Raid Passes and Premium Battle Passes. Remote Raid Passes cannot be used to join these Raid Battles.
Bonus for completing four-star Raid Battles
Once you successfully complete a four-star Raid Battle against Poliwhirl, Poliwag will appear around the Gym that hosted the raid for 30 minutes. If you’re lucky, you may encounter a Shiny one (*)!
*Poliwag that appear under these circumstances will have the same chance of appearing as a Shiny Pokémon as those that appear during May Community Day’s three-hour event period.
