Trainers! We are excited to share with you the next Season’s Community Day dates, along with dates for other special events occurring during December, January and February. Get the dates in your diary and get hyped!
Community Day Events
The dates for next Season’s Community Days are as follows:
- Saturday and Sunday, December 21–22, 2024
- Sunday, January 5, 2025
- Saturday, January 25, 2025 (Community Day Classic)
- Sunday, February 9, 2025
The last Community Day Classic was Beldum, and before that Cyndaquil, so could we see another Johto starter, and see Chikorita or Totodile? Cyndaquil arguably came out of pattern as it came before Chikorita. Potentially I think we could also see Ralts return, which was the featured Pokémon in August 2019, and would be a fairly popular choice, especially if Mega Gallade is released anytime soon.
In terms of the new Community Days, we’ve had all the First Partner (starter) Pokémon from Gen VII and below, so I think it may be a little while before we see another one featured, but if we do, it’ll be Grookey. The Galar starters just don’t feel like they’ve been available in GO long enough to have their shiny released quite yet, but I could be wrong! Other top picks include Pikipek, Venipede, Gothita and Solosis, but more left-field choices inspired by the recent mixed generation Community Days could see Vulpix or Meowth!

Community Days aren’t the only events on the horizon for the coming Season—there are other fun in-game events on the way, and their dates are as follows:

- Sunday, December 8, 2024 (Max Battle Day)
- Saturday, December 14, 2024 (Raid Day)
- Sunday, December 29, 2024 (Hatch Day)
- Saturday, January 11, 2025 (Raid Day)
- Sunday, January 19, 2025 (Shadow Raid Day)
- Saturday, February 1, 2025 (Max Battle Day)
- Saturday, February 15, 2025 (Raid Day)
It looks like the next season is going to be quite Raid and Max Battle heavy, with only two of the eight dates given being non-Raid/ Max Battle events! Interestingly one of the event is a dedicated Shadow Raid Day, could we see the debut of Shadow Legendary that everyone has been crying out for, and finally get Shadow Rayquaza? Or could it be the return of Shadow Mewtwo? Or a different Pokémon entirely?
