19th January 2021 sees Shroomish have a Spotlight Hour from 6pm to 7pm local time.
While there is disappointment from many in the community seeing a Pokémon featured that doesn’t have a shiny form released, there is more to be excited about for this Spotlight Hour than you might think!
While the featured bonus for this Spotlight Hour is 2x Candy per catch, it is worth remembering that Shroomish is one of the Pokémon that recently had their stardust reward adjusted. Instead of 100 stardust per catch as standard like most, with Shroomish the base stardust catch reward is a whopping 500 stardust!

With an incense running for the hour, and no other spawns at all, you can gain roughly 30,000 stardust (with one Shroomish spawning on average every minute, and a successful catch of all Shroomish).
With a star piece that becomes potentially 45,000 stardust in an hour. If you are lucky enough to have the weather bonus and a star piece running that is approx 56,280 stardust gained!
Those figures are all without any spawns outside of incense at all, so if you happen to live near a Pokéstop you can safely Lure up, we’d advise getting a Lure on too to get those extra spawns.
Make sure you are well stocked on Pokéballs (always a bit tricky after a Community Day!), by spinning stops and gyms where you can safely and legally, and opening your maximum amount of gifts today and tomorrow before the Spotlight Hour starts.
