As a special tie in to the Pokemon’s franchise Legendary Year, Niantic has announced that from February 23 until March 5 Groudon and Kyogre raids will be available alongside Rayquaza raids.
The legendary mini event has a small twist: if Groudon and Kygore win, Pokémon that prefer Sunny or Rainy weather (like Trapinch or Lotad) are more likely to hatch. Otherwise, Pokemon that prefer Windy weather will be more likely to hatch. Both refer to from Eggs collected from March 5 to March 16.

We are inclined to prefer Rayquaza raids more than Kyogre and Groudon, despite them being arguably more useful and future proof. If Rayquaza wins, the 2k and 10k Egg tiers will be incredible: Abra, Exeggcute, Dratini, Bagon, Beldum, Chimecho and Ralts hype!
