Here’s how to defeat Tier 4 Paldean Wooper that debuts in Pokémon GO during Wooper Community Day. Paldean Wooper is a special Tier 4 raid boss at the end of Wooper Community Day, and it cannot be shiny from raids. Paldean Wooper can be caught with the following CP values:
- 330 – 366 CP at Level 20, no weather boost
- 412 – 458 CP at Level 25 with Cloudy and Sunny weather boost
Paldean Wooper is a dual Poison and Ground type, with a weakness to Ground, Ice. Psychic and Water-typed moves. Paldean Wooper will be soloable for the well-prepared high-level trainer, especially if utilising Mega Pokémon. Otherwise, we would recommend a minimum of two trainers for those with less ideal counters.

Since Shadow Pokémon are extremely expensive to power up and require specific events to remove Frustration with a Charge TM, they will NOT be listed as raid counters in this article. That being said, if you have the shadow form of a listed raid counter Pokémon powered up and TMed, use it.
Reminder: Mega-Evolved Pokémon give other Pokémon special bonuses when brought to a Raid Battle. While a Mega-Evolved Pokémon is on the battlefield, all Trainers’ Pokémon receive an attack boost to all their attacks and gain an additional attack boost if their attack types match the Mega-Evolved Pokémon’s type(s).

Paldean Wooper has access to this set of moves as a raid boss:
Fast Moves | Charge Moves |

Surf will do some damage to your Ground type counters. Otherwise, this movepool does not look too scary, so you should aim to go in with a strong set of counters.
Weather condition | Pro Attacker | Pro Paldean Wooper |
Sunny/Sunny | Boosts super effective Ground type attacks | Boosts Ground type moves |
Rainy | Boosts super effective Water type attacks | – |
Partly Cloudy | – | Boosts Normal type moves |
Cloudy | – | Boosts Poison type moves |
Windy | Boosts super effective Psychic type attacks | – |
Snow | Boosts super effective Ice type attacks | – |
Fog | – | – |
The best weather to hit Paldean Wooper is Windy or Snow weather as this will boost your Psychic and Ice type attacks, without boosting Wooper’s potential movepool. Given the season, you should look out for Windy weather!
Paldean Wooper has a fantastic shiny that is a reference to the colours of the original Wooper! Unlike Johto Wooper, it does not have gender differences.
