Generation 7 Pokémon Have Been Added to the Game Master file!

Posted in

Hello Trainers! Alolan Pokémon have been pushed.  I repeat, Alolan Pokémon have been pushed! This is not a drill!!

We haven’t had a new generation of Pokémon released into the game since December of 2020, 14 months ago! So the teasing of a whole New Generation of Pokémon is a huge deal! We also had the Alolan variants of previously released Kanto Pokémon way back in 2018, so we’re not strangers to Alolan Pokémon.

💡 Disclaimer: You know the drill by now, everything in this article is data mined, and therefore subject to change or not even being released at all. I feel like this is more appropriate with this post than most like this, as there are things in this article that could very well change by the time this content is released.

Generation VII – Alola

All Gen 7 Pokémon have been pushed, and yes that includes the Ultra Beasts!

There are no moves for any of the Pokémon, other than to say Struggle is everyone’s Fast and Charged move.  They wouldn’t want to give us too much this early, right?

Parting Words

Well, this was unexpected.  Ok, Niantic dropping Gen 7 into the code wasn’t all that unexpected.  We all knew it was coming, the timing is interesting though.  This close to the Johto Tour starting seems like odd timing, but hey who are we to look a gift Mudsdale in the mouth.

There is some interesting stuff there, Cosmoem’s evolution into Solgaleo or Lunala for only 100 candies? I suspect we’ll see Cosmog exclusive to raids, which would explain the relatively low evolution cost for a Legendary.

The bane of Team Rocket’s existence Beware, 400 candies?  Interesting.
Wimpod into Golisopod, 400 candies as well.  Surprising, but alright.

How about the attack on those Ultra Beasts?  Xurkitree with 330 attack?! It’s a glass cannon, but wow.

I’m sure there’s a lot more to come once we’ve had time to digest this and dig into the stats that have been pushed.  We can’t speculate too much considering that every single Pokémon literally only knows the move struggle…  However, we can dream about ideal movesets and guess at what movesets they’ll actually get because we all know they won’t get ideal movesets.

Either way, a whole new generation of Pokémon coming to Pokémon Go is very exciting!  Which Gen 7 Pokémon are you most excited for? Let us know, and look out for more details and information about the eventual drop of Gen 7! Alola here we come!!
