Pokémon Sleep: Holiday 2023 Double Dream Shard Research Event

Sleep Researchers, a brand new Pokémon Sleep Holiday 2023 event has been announced, a Double Dream Shard Research event! Featuring new Pokémon, special bonuses and more for the holiday season. 

NOTE – You must research on Greengrass Isle to partake in this event!

Event Information

  • Event icon During the event, the main skill Dream Shard Magnet S will be twice as effective
  • Candy icon There will also be an event-limited function called Candy Boost
  • Event icon Snorlax on Greengrass Isle during the event week will have Rawst Berries as one of its berry preferences
  • Pokemon Encounter icon You’ll be able to meet Pokémon of different sleep types regardless of your own sleep type
  • Pokemon Encounter icon You’ll have a higher likelihood of meeting Ice-type Pokémon such as Delibird, Snover, and Abomasnow, as well as a Pikachu wearing a red hat!
  • Research icon Through limited-time missions during the event, you can get great rewards such as up to a total of 60 Pikachu Candies.
  • Event icon Researchers who conduct sleep research on the final day of the event will get a gift of 1,225 bonus sleep points!

What is Candy Boost? General icon

Using Candy Boost lets your helper Pokémon get twice the usual amount of EXP from candies in exchange for using up to six times the usual amount of Dream Shards per candy.

You can freely toggle this function ON or OFF by tapping the button in the upper right of the Level Up screen.

Feel free to use Candy Boost when you want to level up your helper Pokémon a lot in one go!

To use the Candy Boost, head to your Pokémon storage box, and select the Pokémon you wish to level up. On the level up screen you’ll notice a new toggle in the top right corner for the Candy Boost, select that to activate it! It will tell you how many Dream Shards will be used so you can make your decision accordingly.

 

How to Progress in the Event Event icon

Participating in the event is easy! Simply press the “Sleep” button on Greengrass Isle before going to sleep during the event period to track your sleep.

A variety of event-related effects will be triggered during your sleep research.

Note: Tracking sleep on any map other than Greengrass Isle will not trigger the event bonuses.

With several new Pokémon debuting during the event, all of which can be shiny, as is standard in Pokémon Sleep, there is a lot of new information!

Snover and Abomasnow

Snover Shiny Snover

Snover has the classic Ice type Rawst Berry, with Snoozy Tomato as their standard ingredient. They can also have Fancy Egg and Tasty Mushroom ingredients.

It’s main skill is ‘Charge Strength S’ which increases Snorlax’s Strength by anywhere from 200 to 800.

It is available at Greengrass Isle and Snowdrop Tundra during Slumbering Sleep, and is an ingredients specialist Pokémon.

Abomasnow Shiny Abomasnow

Abomasnow has the classic Ice type Rawst Berry, with Snoozy Tomato as their standard ingredient. They can also have Fancy Egg and Tasty Mushroom ingredients.

It’s main skill is ‘Charge Strength S’ which increases Snorlax’s Strength by anywhere from 200 to 800.

It is available at Greengrass Isle and Snowdrop Tundra during Slumbering Sleep, and is an ingredients specialist Pokémon.

It takes 40 Candy, and a Snover at level 30 to evolve to Abomasnow.

Holiday Hat Pikachu

Holiday Pikachu Shiny Holiday Pikachu

Pikachu has the classic Electric type Grepa Berry, with Fancy Apple as their standard ingredient. They can also have Fancy Egg and Warming Ginger ingredients.

Unlike the regular Pikachu, this Pikachu has a different skill that is made to help during this event. It’s main skill is ‘Dream Shard Magnet S’ which obtains 88 Dream Shards.

It is available during the event at Greengrass Isle during Slumbering Sleep.

Holiday Pikachu cannot evolve.

Delibird

Delibird Shiny Delibird

Pikachu has the classic Flying type Pamtre Berry, with Fancy Egg as their standard ingredient. They can also have Fancy Apple and Soothing Cacao ingredients.

It’s main skill is ‘Ingredient Magnet S’ which gets you 6 ingredients chosen at random. It is an ingredient specialist Pokémon.

It is available during the event at Greengrass Isle and Snowdrop Tundra during Dozing Sleep.

Delibird cannot evolve.

You can use your Dream Shards to try out the first ever event-limited function, Candy Boost! Items Details

Luck Incense is an item that doubles the number of Dream Shards you receive through sleep research. The effects of this incense stack with the effects of the Holiday 2023 — Dream Shard Research event to multiply the number of Dream Shards by four.

Dream Clusters are items that can be exchanged for Dream Shards when used. The higher level you are, the more Dream Shards you will receive when exchanging Dream Clusters, so save them when you can to use when you have levelled up more!

Notes on the Event

  • [Important] Each day of the Holiday 2023 — Double Dream Shard Research event rolls over at 4:00 a.m.
  • [Important] Event bonuses apply only to sleep data tracked on Greengrass Isle.
  • [Important] Once a certain amount of time has passed after the event, Snover and Abomasnow will no longer appear during sleep research on Greengrass Isle.
  • Event bonuses apply only to sleep tracking that begins within the event period.
  • If you wait to report sleep data tracked before the event begins, and select “Review Later” during the event, event bonuses will not be applied.
  • If you wait to report sleep data tracked during the event, and select “Review Later” after the event has ended, event bonuses will be applied.
  • Event bonuses do not apply to sleep tracking during the tutorial.
  • The Pikachu wearing red hats will stop appearing during regular sleep research after the event has ended, but they will appear if you use Pikachu (Holiday) Incense. They may also appear again in another event some time.
  • The Pikachu wearing red hats cannot be evolved.
  • After the event ends, you won’t be able to use the Candy Boost function. If the Candy Boost function is unlocked again in another event, the amount of EXP gained and/or the Dream Shard consumption may change.
