At the Feet of a Giant
Before Generation II launched Tyranitar was the most hyped Generation II Pokémon, with numerous threads, articles and speculations highlighting it’s massive Max CP and Stat values.
The speculation was not a miss, as Tyranitar entered Pokémon GO with a boom. Sure, it has some good counters, but overall, it’s a great addition to Top Tier Attackers and Defenders.
Larvitar, Pupitar and Tyranitar Max CP and Stats
There is not much wisdom to share about Tyranitar’s stats. They are top tier, elite stats, with 251 ATK and 200 STA making him a formidable and bulky attacker.
It’s defense is not too shabby either, making him also a great Defender with an appropriate moveset.
Pokémon Go Tyranitar Best Moveset
As expected, Tyranitar comes with 6 possible movesets. Some of those moves are rather weak or specialised for a particular situation. In general you want a Tyranitar with Stone edge ROCK both in Offense and Defense.
Every moveset that includes Stone edge ROCK is around 30% better than the rest of moves, making it the best Charge move for Tyranitar by far.
As for specific scenarios, movesets like Bite DARK / Fire blast FIRE are perfect fit for taking down Exeggutor.
