Last month we asked to see your best summer themed AR photographs, and there were beautiful entries, so this month we set a bit more of a challenge. Any theme, but you can only photograph end stage/final evolutions! There is a lot of variety in Pokémon here, and some amazing concepts!

‘After seven years of playing this game, I finally hit level 50! I wanted to do something special to celebrate hitting that milestone, so I spent several months planning this AR shot of my favorite Pokémon at one of my favorite places in the world. It was important to me that this photo not seem like an ending. Charizard is looking into the distance at the vast world in front of it because while we’ve come a long way in this game together, there are still endless places to explore and things to experience!’

‘While I was in Hawaii, I knew I needed to take some AR shots of Alolan Pokémon. I’ve always wanted to take a dynamic shot of my Alolan Raichu, so I waded into the ocean to take this picture! Timing Raichu’s attack animation at the same time as a wave, getting the camera low enough to capture the splashing water, and not getting knocked around too much by the waves was incredibly challenging, but I finally got a shot I’m proud of!’

‘My family and I hiked partway up Mauna Kea, the highest mountain in Hawaii. Even though we didn’t go all the way to the peak, we still climbed high enough to see a gorgeous sunset! Braviary’s Pokédex entry in Pokémon Sun states that ancient Alolan people respected it and referred to it as “the hero of the sky”, so it seemed fitting to take a photo of Braviary on Mauna Kea.’

‘Sneasler has a pretty interesting animation in Buddy Mode, which almost looks at times like they are meditating or practicing Tai Chi, with such a peaceful expression! I took this using the Bokehmon technique, a favourite of mine.’
