Good day, Pokémon Trainers! The Pokémon GO World Championships are in full swing. This means trainers around the world are bringing their A-game in order to secure the title of “World Champion”. Though trainers will have to go through a gauntlet of other trainers for three whole days for this prestigious title. What this means is 3 days of intense competition, 3 days of hype matches, and 3 days of trainers putting everything on the line making every prediction and every catch to get an inch closer to victory!
And that’s where I come in. Whether you’ve missed some of the key matches or want to relive some of the best moments, I’ll be bringing you some of the highlights of each day and providing a brief description and analysis for each. With that explanation out of the way, let’s begin with the highlights of Day 2!
Lurganrocket has been a long-standing player in GO. Being the very first trainer to win an official tournament. For a well-established trainer, it’s only fair to win with a well-established Pokémon. So of course, Lurgan starts day 2 by winning with his trusty Cresselia!
In GO PvP, 1 and 2-turn-fast attacks are considered more reliable. As anything higher is clunky and unreliable. This did not deter rochababyface though. All he required was Azumarill’s immense bulk and fast attack damage to win.
Inadequance and ColinO6 are both really well know players from the European circuit. So when they come face to face everyone’s in for a treat. By the end Inadequance came up on top in this bout.
In my speculation article, I mentioned my interest in the lesser-seen trainers in the English streams. And MartoGarde gave me the show I wanted. Winning match after match with flying colors and with a Whimsicott no less!
The World Championship is here, it is happening! And it has brought some amazing battles on day 2. What I’ve covered here is merely a snippet of all the amazing trainers pouring their all both on and off stream. If I were to put my personal remark for day 2, I would say the keyword is Epic.
How else can I describe such fantastic matches? We have only a few moments left till championship Sunday and I can not wait!
Goodbye for now, Pokémon trainers. Priom-out!
