Camerupt Raid Guide

Camerupt

Camerupt is a tier 3 raid boss with a CP value of 15409. It is a dual Fire and Ground type, with weaknesses to Ground and a 4x weakness to Water. It can be caught with the following CP values:

  • 1058 – 1253 CP at Level 20, no weather boost
  • 1323 – 1566 CP at Level 25 with Sunny weather boost

Due to its crippling weakness to Water type attacks, Camerupt should be an easy solo for well prepared trainers. Otherwise we would recommend a minimum of two trainers for those with less than ideal counters.

Camerupt Counters

Since Shadow Pokémon are extremely expensive to power up and require specific events to remove Frustration with a Charge TM, they will NOT be listed as raid counters in this article. That being said, if you have the shadow form of a listed raid counter Pokémon powered up and TMed, use it.

The best raid counters according to our GO Hub battle simulator for Camerupt are:

Camerupt Movepool Analysis

Fast Moves Charge Moves
  • Ember Fire
  • Incinerate Fire
  • Rock Smash Fighting
  • Overheat Fire
  • Earthquake Ground
  • Solar Beam Grass
  • Earth Power Ground

The only move of note here is Solar Beam. This can easily take a chunk out of any Water counters you may be using, especially dual Water / Ground types such as Swampert. Gyarados makes for a great counter against any movesets, as it will resist everything except Solar Beam, which will be only neutral instead of Super-Effective.

Parting Words

While Camerupt will likely never be meta defining, it does have access to a Mega Evolution, so it might be worthwhile to hang on to one with good IV’s. Camerupt is a great option for lower level players looking to solo their first raid. Happy hunting!
