Fomantis Raid Guide

Fomantis is a Tier 1 raid boss in Pokémon GO, the best Fomantis counters are strong Bug and Fire type Pokémon like Mega Blaziken, Mega Gengar, Volcarona, and Pheromosa.

Being a straight Grass-type it is weak to Bug, Fire, Poison, Flying, and Ice-types. Fomantis max capture CP values are as follows:

• 385 – 423 CP (No weather boost, level 20, 100% IV)
• 481 – 529 CP (Sunny weather, level 25, 100% IV)

As Fomantis is a tier 1 raid boss, it should be an easy solo for most trainers.

As of June 2023, Fomantis can now be shiny!

💡 Given that Shadow Pokémon require a special event to TM away Frustration and are extremely stardust heavy to power up they have been excluded. With that being said, if you have a Shadow version of one of the Non-Mega Pokémon powered up and TM’ed, use it.

Conclusion

Lurantis (Fomantis’ evolution) isn’t meta-shattering or even meta-shaking for PVE.  Its low stats don’t lend well to it being useful. It is available as a shiny, so if you like the shiny you can hunt that.
