Pokémon Legends Z-A brings back the fan-favorite Mega Evolution mechanic, introducing 26 brand-new Mega Pokémon, alongside many returning classics from Pokémon X and Y, where Mega Evolution was first discovered 12 years ago in the Kalos region. For a full list of Legends Z-A Pokémon, check our Pokémon Legends Z-A Pokédex page.
This page features every new Mega Evolution in Pokémon Legends Z-A, organized alphabetically, with their full base stats and typings. In the next part of the article, we will show you the images and base stats for every new Mega Evolution in Pokémon Legends Z-A.
We also heavily recommend this video from PDWinnall covering all new Megas:
Mega Barbaracle
Rock/Fighting typing gives Mega Barbaracle excellent coverage and new resistances. Its Attack (+huge boost) and Defense jump sharply, turning it into a dangerous physical tank that thrives in close combat. A bulky bruiser that finally matches its fearsome look.

Mega Chandelure
Mega Chandelure is the pinnacle of Special Attack, as it has 175 Sp Attk stat, second only to Legendaries in this game. Wow!

Mega Clefable
Mega Clefable is no longer a pure Fairy Pokémon, as it gains Flying type when it Mega evolves. Mega Clefable is strong offensively, not that bulky, but very useful against Ground types.
| Type | Fairy |
|---|---|
| HP | 95 |
| Attack | 80 |
| Defense | 93 |
| Sp. Atk | 135 |

Mega Dragalge
Mega Dragalge is very usable, very tanky, and very weak to Ground types, but otherwise a fantastic choice! You can do some impressive damage with Mega Dragalge.
| Type | Poison Dragon |
|---|---|
| HP | 65 |
| Attack | 85 |
| Defense | 105 |
| Sp. Atk | 132 |
| Sp. Def | 163 |

Mega Dragonite
Mega Dragonite is a predominately special attacker in Legends Z-A, with the insane bulk you’ve learned from Dragonite. Quite clunky as physical attacker in Mega form, so priorities special attacks.
| Type | Dragon |
|---|---|
| HP | 91 |
| Attack | 124 |
| Defense | 115 |
| Sp. Atk | 145 |
| Sp. Def | 125 |

Mega Drampa
Mega Drampa reminds you that Drampa exists, and it does that by hitting super hard with Special Attacks. It is still super low, but at least its movepool is wide enough to be useful.
| Type | Normal Dragon |
|---|---|
| HP | 78 |
| Attack | 85 |
| Defense | 110 |
| Sp. Atk | 160 |
| Sp. Def | 116 |
| Speed | 36 |
| BST | 585 |
Mega Eelektross
Mega Eelektross still takes damage from Ground types as we don’t have abilities in Legends Z-A, but it is still a fantastic mixed attacker.
| Type | Electric |
|---|---|
| HP | 85 |
| Attack | 145 |
| Defense | 80 |
| Sp. Atk | 135 |
| Sp. Def | 90 |

Mega Emboar
Mega Emboar has a particularly strong physical attack, okay defense, but it is a bit slow. Still, quite usable, but not too exciting compared to some of the other new Megas. The design is top notch tho!
| Type | Fire Fighting |
|---|---|
| HP | 110 |
| Attack | 148 |
| Defense | 75 |
| Sp. Atk | 110 |
| Sp. Def | 110 |
| Speed | 75 |
| BST | 628 |
Mega Excadrill
Mega Excadrill is a top notch physical attacker with monstrous 165 Attack, high Defense and solid HP. It also has access to the best Ground type moves to match, definitely fantastic.
| Type | Ground Steel |
|---|---|
| HP | 110 |
| Attack | 165 |
| Defense | 100 |
| Sp. Atk | 65 |
| Sp. Def | 65 |

Mega Falinks
Mega Falinks gets a strong buff to its physical stats, and it is the only Galar Pokémon to receive a new Mega Evolution.
| Type | Fighting |
|---|---|
| HP | 65 |
| Attack | 135 |
| Defense | 135 |
| Sp. Atk | 70 |

Mega Feraligatr
Oh Mega Feraligatr, what a glow up! The new dinosaur-themed helm design is accompanied with the addition of Dragon typing, and Feraligatr’s base psychical attack got improved by 55 points. It can deal a ton of damage, especially when taking physical damage.
| Type | Water Dragon |

| HP | 85 |
| Attack | 160 |

| Sp. Atk | 89 |
| Sp. Def | 93 |

Mega Froslass
Mega Froslass gets a massive buff to its Special Attack, making it finally into a strong attacker, that can take some damage. Very fast as well.

Mega Hawlucha
Mega Hawlucha leans heavily towards physical attacks, and it does that well. It is very fast and focused on dealing damage.
| Type | Fighting |
|---|---|

| Attack | 137 |
| Defense | 100 |
| Sp. Atk | 74 |
| Sp. Def | 93 |

| BST | 600 |
Mega Malamar
Mega Malamar is cool, but definitely the lowest damage dealer among the new Legends Z-A Megas. High Special Defense is not as important in a game where you can dodge, so yeah, that’s that.
| Type | Dark Psychic |
|---|---|
| HP | 86 |
| Attack | 102 |
| Defense | 88 |
| Sp. Atk | 98 |
| Sp. Def | 120 |

Mega Meganium
Mega Meganium gains Fairy typing, and receives a boost in its Special Attack stat, allowing it to deal a ton of damage. Compared to regular Meganium, a definitive step up!
| Type | Grass Fairy |
|---|---|
| HP | 80 |
| Attack | 92 |
| Defense | 115 |
| Sp. Atk | 143 |
| Sp. Def | 115 |

| BST | 625 |
Mega Pyroar
Mega Pyroar is strong, reliable, and a well rounded Pokémon, with equally boosted stats in its Mega form. You can’t really go wrong if you use it as a Fire-type Special Attacker.
| Type | Fire Normal |
|---|---|
| HP | 86 |
| Attack | 88 |
| Defense | 92 |
| Sp. Atk | 129 |
| Sp. Def | 86 |
| Speed | 126 |
| BST | 607 |
Mega Scolipede
Mega Scolipede has become a very slow physical tank, with equally very impressive Attack and Defense. Definitely worth using, but not as fast as you’d expect.
| Type | Bug Poison |
|---|---|
| HP | 60 |
| Attack | 140 |
| Defense | 149 |
| Sp. Atk | 75 |
| Sp. Def | 99 |
| Speed | 62 |
| BST | 585 |
Mega Scrafty
Definitely weird choice of colors when it comes to Mega Scrafty’s clothing, but it is a tanky behemoth with 135 Defense and Special Defense.
| Type | Dark Fighting |
|---|---|
| HP | 65 |
| Attack | 130 |
| Defense | 135 |
| Sp. Atk | 55 |
| Sp. Def | 135 |
| Speed | 68 |
| BST | 588 |
Mega Skarmory
Mega Skarmory is a fun physical attacker, and a terrible special attacker, but you won’t care much about that. The design is great, with that golden matching Skarmory brilliantly!
| Type | Steel |
|---|---|
| HP | 65 |
| Attack | 140 |
| Defense | 110 |
| Sp. Atk | 40 |
| Sp. Def | 100 |
| Speed | 110 |
| BST | 565 |
Mega Starmie
Mega Starmie’s design is going to be discussed for years to come, with long humanoid legs making it nightmare fuel. In terms of stats, it is no longer just a super strong Special Attacker, but rather a mixed attacker now, with a really high Attack stat. Also very fast and surprisingly bulky!
| Type | Water Psychic |
|---|---|
| HP | 60 |
| Attack | 140 |
| Defense | 105 |
| Sp. Atk | 130 |
| Sp. Def | 105 |
| Speed | 120 |
| BST | 660 |
Mega Victreebel
Mega Victreebel is slow, but its physical and Special Attack make it super fun to use in combination of Grass and Poison types.
| Type | Grass Poison |
|---|---|
| HP | 80 |
| Attack | 125 |
| Defense | 85 |
| Sp. Atk | 135 |

| BST | 590 |
Mega Zygarde
