Mega Pinsir Raid Guide

Pinsir (Mega)

Due to its 2x weakness to the Rock type, the best counters for Mega Pinsir are strong Rock type Pokémon. In addition, it is also weak to the Electric, Fire, Flying, and Ice types. Due to its slew of common weaknesses, it’s easy to find counters in your collection.

Pinsir can be caught with the following CP values:

  • 1613 – 1690 CP at level 20, no weather boost
  • 2016 – 2113 CP at level 25 with Rainy weather boost

Around 2-5 Trainers with strong and high-level Pokémon can take down Mega Pinsir with relative ease, no matter what the weather in the game is like. This write-up will serve as a comprehensive guide to successfully beating Mega Pinsir in the raid.

It is strongly recommended to use mega-evolved Pokémon not just because of their inherent raw power, but also for the added bonus in damage output by all types that are super-effective against Mega Pinsir.

You cannot catch Pinsir in its mega-evolved form from the raid. The mega raid boss is always catchable in its base form and as such, the CP ranges are for a regular Pinsir.

To get Mega Pinsir you will need to gather 200 Mega Energy to evolve your Pinsir. Once you have evolved a Pinsir you can use 40 Mega Energy to evolve it again, or you can wait for the cooldown period to end for a free Mega Evolution.

There are different levels for Mega Pokémon, and the higher the level, the quicker the cooldown. Each new Mega Pinsir you evolve will cost 200 Mega Energy.

Pinsir can be shiny both in the wild, and from a Mega Raid. It is a fantastic bright blue shiny, with golden yellow horns.

To get shiny Mega Pinsir, you will need to evolve a shiny Pinsir. It retains the same bright blue of the normal Pinsir shiny, and the same yellow horns.
