Prinplup is a Tier 3 raid boss. The ideal recommended group size is 1-3 for well-prepared trainers. Make sure you are armed with the correct movesets for your counters.
Prinplup cannot be shiny from raids.
Prinplup can be caught in the following CP range:
- 914 CP to 972 CP at Level 20, no weather boost
- 1142 CP to 1215 CP at Level 25, weather boosted during Rainy weather
Prinplup is a Water-type Pokémon. Prinplup is weak to Electric and Grass-type moves. It takes reduced damage from Fire, Ice, Steel, and Water-type moves.
Reminder: Mega-Evolved Pokémon give other Pokémon special bonuses when brought to a Raid Battle. While a Mega-Evolved Pokémon is on the battlefield, all Trainers’ Pokémon receive an attack boost to all their attacks and gain an additional attack boost if their attack types match the Mega-Evolved Pokémon’s type(s).

Your top attackers will have Grass type moves, which are both boosted by Sunny/Sunny weather, which works great in your favour. However for your Electric attackers to be boosted you do risk boosting Prinplups potential move-pool in Rainy weather. This will however yield you with a weather boosted encounter! If you’re solo-ing this raid and looking for a bit of help, Sunny or Sunny weather is what you’re looking for. However, bear in mind this is a Tier 3 boss so if you’re out with a friend then Prinplup should not be hard to defeat in any weather!
