Season of Heritage is a new Pokémon GO season that lasts from December 1, 2021, until March 1, 2022. During the Season of Heritage, Trainers will help Professor Willow unlock a strange giant door and uncover the mystery of our own heritage.
After witnessing the power of Hoopa Unbound, Professor Willow’s exploration brought him to a historical cave site, where he stumbles upon a large door bearing a set of strange unlocking mechanisms. How does it open? What lies beyond?
Special Research this Season will see you collaborating with both Professor Willow and the Team Leaders to help uncover this historic site’s mysteries.

Story
During Swinub Incense Day 2021, Trainers joined Professor Willow and Blanche to unlock a mysterious door with the help of both Ice-type and Ground-type Pokémon.
After unlocking the door, the events of Dragonspiral Descent Event take place as we awaken the ancient Dragon-type Druddigon, who was sleeping in the Cave.
