Registeel (Shadow)
Pokémon GO’s Shadowy Skirmishes Special Research is a quest line that rewards players with a Super Rocket Radar and the chance to catch a Shadow Registeel. The quest line is available until the end of Season of Mythical Wishes, on March 1, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. local time.
Players must have completed the Ultra Beast Protection Efforts Special Research or have no active Team GO Rocket Special Research quests in order to pick up Shadowy Skirmishes. The quest line consists of five stages, each with their own rewards.
Pokémon GO Shadowy Skirmishes Tasks and Rewards
Upon defeating Giovanni, you will have a chance to catch a Shadow Registeel. Shadow Registeel is not great in PvP, as discussed in our New Shadow Pokémon Analysis: Shadow Registeel article, but it is an excellent collection piece.

How to get Shadowy Skirmishes
In order to pick up Shadowy Skirmishes, you need to have Ultra Beast Protection Efforts Special Research completed, or at least not have any active Team GO Rocket Special Research quests active.
