Togetic is a Tier 3 raid boss with 12936 Combat Power, and a former Tier 4 raid boss. Togetic is double weak to Electric, Rock, Steel, Ice, and Poison types.

With the release of Mega Pokemon in Pokemon GO, Togetic is soloable! However, Togetic’s bulky defense makes it one of the harder Tier 3 bosses, not necessarily at Shuckle levels of impossible, but you’ll want to bring a good team of Level 35 counters from the list below.

Here are the top ten counters for Togetic based on their total values (a combination of damage-per second and total-damage output).

# Pokemon Fast Move Charge Move
1. Metagross Bullet Punch Steel Meteor Mash Steel
2. Zekrom Charge Beam Electric Wild Charge Electric
3. Venusaur (Mega) Vine Whip Grass Sludge Bomb Poison
4. Dialga Metal Claw Steel Iron Head Steel
5. Jirachi Confusion Psychic Doom Desire Steel
6. Beedrill (Mega) Poison Jab Poison Sludge Bomb Poison
7. Rhyperior Smack Down Rock Rock Wrecker Rock
8. Electivire Thunder Shock Electric Wild Charge Electric
9. Raikou Volt Switch Electric Wild Charge Electric
10. Rampardos Smack Down Rock Rock Slide Rock

Notably missing from this list are Ice-type counters for Togetic, which are weaker counters when not effective against both types (think Garchomp with Dragon/Ground). Recommended Ice-type counters are Mamoswine, Galarian Darmanitan, Glaceon, and Weavile with double Ice-type moves.

Togetic can be captured with the following Combat Power values:

  • 917 – 976 at Level 20, no weather boost
  • 1147 – 1220 at Level 25, with Cloudy and Windy weather

Move Analysis

As outlined before, Togetic raids are not a difficult affair anymore, and the same thing can be said for its moves:

Fast Moves Charged Moves
  • Extrasensory Psychic
  • Hidden Power Normal
  • Dazzling Gleam Fairy
  • Aerial Ace Flying
  • Ancient Power Rock

Dazzling Gleam is Togetic’s most dangerous move, given its high Power value (100) and Same-Type-Attack-Bonus (STAB) benefits. The rest of the moves are low damage output moves that are frequently used and easy to dodge. However, given that you will probably use a Metagross with Meteor Mash versus Togetic, you really don’t have to worry about dodging.
