Pokémon Spotlight Hour will feature a different Pokémon and a special bonus for one hour at 6:00 p.m. local time on Tuesday during the month of December. Togetic Spotlight Hour takes place on December 31st, 2024, from 6:00 to 7:00 pm local time, with a bonus of 2x XP for evolving Pokémon.
Togetic
This Spotlight Hour is the last December 2024 Pokémon spotlight. It’s especially exciting as shiny Togetic is available in Pokémon GO! It is also a great time to evolve any trash ‘mon in your storage before you transfer them.
Trainers who plan to participate should be prepared with a Mega Pokémon to maximise candy gains per Togetic caught. Here’s everything you need to know!
If you want further information about Spotlight Hours, check out our comprehensive guide.
Bonuses
- You will get 2x XP for Evolving Pokémon
- Shiny Togetic and its evolutions are available in Pokémon GO
Note on XP Bonus
If you do not want to catch the featured Pokémon or do not have enough Togetic candy saved, you can make use of the 2x Evolution XP bonus by evolving any saved Scatterbug, or opening a Mystery Box or Coin Bag and evolving those!
This is a great opportunity to evolve any Pokémon caught during the New Years 2025 event. The old-school grinders will remember the days of saving Pidgey and other low-cost evolutions for this sort of spotlight hour, and it can be a good way to grind XP with a lucky egg on.
None of the wild spawns featured during the event have cheap evolutions at 25 candy. However, keep any Jigglypuff or Hoothoot you come across to evolve using 50 candy during this spotlight hour!
Togetic
Togetic is a Fairy and Flying-type Pokémon in Pokémon GO. As a Fairy and Flying-type Pokémon, Togetic is weak to Electric, Ice, Poison, Rock, and Steel-type moves.
Togetic’s maximum Combat Power stat is 1931 CP, and its best Pokémon GO moves are Fairy Wind and Dazzling Gleam. Togetic encounters are boosted during Cloudy and Windy weather. Shiny Togetic is available! ✨

Shiny Togetic
Shiny Togetic is very difficult to spot. The markings swap colours and its body becomes off-white.
The following Pokémon will grant you extra bonuses when catching Togetic if they are Mega/Primal evolved. While a Pokémon is Mega-Evolved, additional XP and Candy is granted when catching a Pokémon that shares a type with it, or for any raid boss caught. These do not stack with each other. Additionally, High and Max Level Mega-Evolved Pokémon grant an increased chance to obtain Candy XL when catching a Pokémon that shares a type with it. Togekiss is no Legendary or even a Pseudo Legendary. Its stats are decent at best. Yet, Togekiss is one of the most feared Pokémon in PvP thanks to its moveset. 👀 It’s one of those Pokémon that made the ‘Charmer’ moniker famous. No wonder it’s viable in all three PvP Leagues. If you have a Togekiss ideal for any of the Leagues, don’t hesitate to put it in your team! 😁 Togekiss not only eliminates Dragons, Fighters, and the Dark dwellers, but it also dishes out high-octane neutral damage to anything not Fire, Steel, or Poison. Even against those, it has Aura Sphere or Ancient Power to deal with them. 😉 The sheer presence of Togekiss continues to shine in the Ultra League, where the types it’s strong against are more common. 😁 Essentially, bringing out a Togekiss in an Ultra League bout makes your opponent nervous. 😎 In a meta dominated by some of the strongest Pokémon in Pokémon GO, Togekiss remains a force to be reckoned with. It’s lethal in the (2-2) shield scenario, where it can cut down even the mighty Dialga using just Charm. 🩷 In other matchups, it can farm Charm energy to power up its Charged moves, either demanding a shield or inflicting high damage. Against foes like Dragonite, Garchomp, or Groudon, it can beat them effortlessly while taking minimal damage in return. 😂 Against its biggest enemy, Steel types, it has Aura Sphere and Flamethrower to hit them hard, especially if they make the mistake of not using a shield. 🙌 It does face struggles against Metagross, Melmetal, Mewtwo, Mamoswine, and Dusk Mane Necrozma, among others. But ultimately, Togekiss is a major figure in the Master League, capable of threatening a large portion of the meta. 💯 Togekiss is one of the most popular Fairy types in Pokémon GO, wielding the excellent Charm and Dazzling Gleam combo. It may not have the highest damage figures but boasts great TDO (Total Damage Output) to boot! 💪 There aren’t too many meta-relevant Fairy types in the game, but Togekiss is certainly one of them, making it a must-have Pokémon. 🙌 Togekiss is a great counter to beat Dragon, Fighting, and Dark types. While there are stronger options, Togekiss particularly excels at dealing with Fighting type Pokémon because its additional Flying typing resists their damage heavily! 🧚♀️ A pretty good Gym defender, honestly! It has respectable bulk and superb resistance to Fighting types, which are common Gym attackers. 🙂
