Here’s how to defeat Tier 4 Wooper that debuts in Pokémon GO Raids after Wooper Community Day. Wooper cannot be shiny from Raids, but defeating the boss will trigger Wooper spawns around the Gym.
Wooper can be caught with the following CP values:
- 330 – 366 CP at Level 20, no weather boost
- 412 – 458 CP at Level 25 with Rainy and Sunny weather boost
Wooper is a dual Water and Ground type, with a weakness to Grass-typed moves. Wooper will be soloable for the well-prepared high-level trainer, especially if utilising Mega Pokémon. Otherwise, we would recommend a minimum of two trainers for those with less ideal counters.
Date and Time
- November 5, 2023, 5:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. local time
- You can only join these raids using Raid Passes and Premium Battle Passes. Remote Raid Passes cannot be used to join these Raid Battles.
Completion rewards
Completing these special raids will cause Wooper to appear around the gym in higher numbers, with the same shiny rate as during Community Day hours!

Since Shadow Pokémon are extremely expensive to power up and require specific events to remove Frustration with a Charge TM, they will NOT be listed as raid counters in this article. That being said, if you have the shadow form of a listed raid counter Pokémon powered up and TMed, use it.
Reminder: Mega-Evolved Pokémon give other Pokémon special bonuses when brought to a Raid Battle. While a Mega-Evolved Pokémon is on the battlefield, all Trainers’ Pokémon receive an attack boost to all their attacks and gain an additional attack boost if their attack types match the Mega-Evolved Pokémon’s type(s).

Wooper has access to this set of moves as a raid boss:
Fast Moves | Charge Moves |

Your Grass type counters will be strong against Water and Ground type attacks, so this movepool does not look too scary. Be prepared with a full team of strong counters and you will not find this too difficult.
Weather condition | Pro Attacker | Pro Wooper |
Sunny/Sunny | Boosts super effective Grass type attacks | Boosts Ground type moves |
Rainy | – | Boosts Water type moves |
Partly Cloudy | – | Boosts Normal type moves |
Cloudy | – | – |
Windy | – | – |
Snow | – | – |
Fog | – | – |
The best weather to hit Wooper is Sunny/Sunny weather as this will boost your Grass type attacks, however this will also boost Wooper’s potential Ground-type attacks.
Wooper does have gender differences for male and female variants, so the completionist may want to make sure they have both versions! The male has larger spikes on his face, with two branches, vs one for the female. Quagsire also has a gender difference, with the male having a larger fin on his back, which isn’t visible in the standard GO sprite without turning it around in game.
