Alola Diglett
This Spotlight Hour is the fourth July 2024 Pokémon spotlight. It’s a great time to evolve any trash ‘mon in your storage before you transfer them.
Trainers who plan to participate should be prepared with a Mega Pokémon to maximise candy gains per Diglett caught. Here’s everything you need to know!
- If you want further information about Spotlight Hours, check out our comprehensive guide.
Bonuses
- You will get 2x XP for Evolving Pokémon
- Shiny Diglett and its evolution are available in Pokémon GO
- Both the Kanto and Alolan forms of Diglett will feature in this Spotlight Hour
Note on XP Bonus
If you do not want to catch the featured Pokémon or do not have enough Diglett candy saved, you can make use of the 2x Evolution XP bonus by evolving any saved Scatterbug, or opening a Mystery Box or Coin Bag and evolving those!
This is a great opportunity to evolve any Pokémon caught during the Ultra Unlock: Better Together event. The old-school grinders will remember the days of saving Pidgey and other low-cost evolutions for this sort of spotlight hour, and it can be a good way to grind XP with a lucky egg on.
Zizgzagoon and Klink are the some of the cheapest evolutions from Better Together, at 25 Candy cost per evolution. These are great options to save up and evolve pretty cheaply during this spotlight. Though Klink is a are rarer wild spawn so you’re less likely to be able to collect lots of these to evolve.
The majority of the other wild spawns cost 50 candy per evolution. Some, like Wooper and Zigzagoon, have been community day Pokémon so you should have enough candy to mass evolve these ‘mon.

Shiny Kanto Diglett
There are no gender differences to look out for. Shiny Diglett is quite subtle – the nose goes from pink to a blueish colour!
The following Pokémon will grant you extra bonuses when catching Diglett if they are Mega/Primal evolved. It is best to use a Ground type mega so that it will boost both forms of Diglett! While a Pokémon is Mega-Evolved, additional XP and Candy is granted when catching a Pokémon that shares a type with it, or for any raid boss caught. These do not stack with each other. Additionally, High and Max Level Mega-Evolved Pokémon grant an increased chance to obtain Candy XL when catching a Pokémon that shares a type with it. No. No.
